8.00 (good) A cute, funny series with diverse characters and emotions. It's a shame that creative differences between the original creator and director led the anime adaptation to not continue forward as the continuing story where the romance between Kyo and Tohru blossom which is favorite part of the series as a whole.

8.00 (good) I love this series and it was truly a wonderful take on the Journey to the West series. ADV's dub was really amazing and the VA's delivered great performances. For the Reload and Gunlock series I watched them in the original Japanese dub. I don't think they cast the right VA's for the characters in Bang Zoom's dub of both series, I believe Lex Lang would've suited Gojyo better than Sanzo and Crispin Freeman for Sanzo. Other VA's among Bang Zoom's VA troupe that would've been better choices; Liam O' Brien for Kougaiji, Steven Blum for Dokugakuji, Melissa Fahn for Lirin, and Mary Elizabeth McGlynn for Kanzeon Bosatsu. The first Saiyuki series was a blast with its' two action packed seasons, with my favorite being the Homura arc, he's so sexy just like Sanzo and Gojyo are. The Hazel Grouse arc in Gunlock is much better than the Kami-sama arc in Reload. I'm glad the main seiyuu reprised their roles for the 2017 anime. Sharak Sanzo is truly amazing and I like her character, she's a total badass and also I enjoyed the cameo of Zakuro in one episode. It would've been nice to see Ni Jianyi show up in Blast and I do think the series would've benefited having a 2 cour run.

8.00 (good) I loved the neat blend of mecha action, political intrigue, and high school hijinks from the first season, TSR is another great season because it showcases KyoAni at its' best for their animation work and the plot is really top-notch. Fumoffu is okay and has its' funny moments, but it showcases too much of Kaname's "tsun" nature, whereas I felt the first and TSR gave more of a balance. I love Sousuke and Kaname as a couple, they are really good together when Kaname isn't in her "tsun" mode, the best scenes are when she and Sousuke have their tender moments together. However my favorite scene of the pair is in TSR when Kaname is giving Sousuke his haircut, great chemistry right there. Mikuni Shimokawa's songs are amazing and they're always great to listen to, Tamaru Yamada's songs for Invisible Victory were amazing too. Hopefully a fifth season will be green-lit, I was disappointed that the latest season was only 12 episodes, it deserved 24 IMO.

8.00 (good) Quite a beautiful fantasy romance anime series, the relationship between Coud and Ren was so cute. That Viro girl who tried to come between them was annoying though. I loved the English dub of the series and they had some pretty good VA's voicing the characters.

8.00 (good) I liked this anime centered around the Shinsengumi; although some events stretch actual history, the series kept true of the strength of the Shinsengumi as samurai. The blend of comedy and drama and both were well balanced in this series. However, I didn't like the OP & ED songs...they didn't really suit this series that much, the songs sounded like they belonged on Gintama.

8.00 (good) The first season was really great with the amazing story and character development, the battle scenes were well choreographed as well. Even after watching Exodus, I still think S1 was the better series as the story, character development, and action complimented one another and was overall better constructed. Exodus was good, but not as great as the first series and the OVA that centered on Ryou and Yumi was. I wasn't too thrilled with the songs for Exodus either and wished that there were more of a variety of artists to do the songs. I was glad that Kenji and Sakura advanced their relationship and Kouyou returning in the second half of Exodus.

8.00 (good) Another favorite shoujo title I like with a good, emotionally driven story with the character leads Yuu and Miki going through emotional roller coasters in their relationship, usually with romantic rivals as the main factor. I think some people give Miki too much flak for her issues and make her out to be annoying, if she didn't have girls like that selfish brat Suzu and awful vixen Jinny to deal with, her past with Ginta doesn't help either...then Miki would be in a better frame of mind. I'm glad the series ending left me feeling satisfied with the results of this character driven drama. I loved this series very much with Ryotaro Okiayu and Mariko Kouda portraying love interests and the two have great chemistry when they work together, I wish Kouda voiced Sanae for Clannad, she would've been great in the role and it would've reunited her and Okiayu. One technical aspect I didn't like was the female school uniforms that Miki and Meiko wear, they looked awful and I think a navy sailor fuku would've been a better choice.

Akira

Last Updated: Mar 14, 2015

8.00 (good) Story wise, it cut way too much from the original manga, and could've been at least a movie trilogy, but visually I was impressed. Akira is truly a landmark film from all the work and money that went into making the movie. The 2001 Pioneer dub is just as enjoyable as the original Japanese version, so if you love dubs then the 2001 version is the one to go for and not that god-awful Streamline version. I'd say hold onto your Pioneer Special Edition DVD set if you still have it for the plethora of extra features that the FUNimation release left out, such as the Akira Production Report. This is also an anime I consider an essential title to see, so I do recommend Akira for the general audience to see as Akira is a noteworthy classic.

8.00 (good) A touching story between Zeon pilot Bernie and young civilian Alfred who form a relationship like brothers will bring anyone to tears, as it did me. Having a female Gundam pilot in Christina is a major plus, something rarely seen in Gundam. Fans of seiyuu Daisuke Namikawa should watch this OVA as his role as Alfred was his debut role back when he was a boy. I wish it was longer to have more time with these wonderful characters, they deserved it.

Last Updated: Dec 17, 2013

8.00 (good) Quite a fun fanservice show I enjoyed very much with two great female leads in the sexy red-head Chocolate Misu (the sexiest red-head in anime IMHO) and Tira Misu who is sugar and spice and everything nice. It's a shame this series is underrated and I feel there should be a reboot of this series to show what an excellent ecchi anime should be like...outside of those stupid, cliche high school settings. Bakuretsu Hunters has everything that makes it very enjoyable; a fun cast of characters, good storyline, beautiful art, a great antagonist in Zaha Torte, top-notch cast of seiyuu such as Megumi Hayashibara and Yuko Mizutani, wonderful music score and songs, and a truly fantastic piece of anime set in a fantasy setting. So I truly recommend Bakuretsu Hunters to those seeking to see an ecchi show outside of those dumb high-school set shows.

8.00 (good) Another favorite Gundam title I like as the series had an organic feel to it with the characters being normal pilots and not possessing special abilities and piloting flashy mechs, which I liked and the romance between the Federation soldier, Shiro Amada and Zeon's Aina Sahalin. The Miller's Report short movie was okay in regards to the new footage, but I think it could've been incorporated into the actual series as an episode, as it was mostly showing a recap of episodes 7 & 8.

Last Updated: May 28, 2021

8.00 (good) My favorite Yuzo Takada series and loved the pairing of Kusanagi and Momiji, it has a great story and interesting characters, so I truly recommend watching this series. Momiji is a true heroine; selfless, kind, strong, has a sense of humor in her character, she proves to be self-reliant as the series progresses and can stand on her on without always having to rely on her love interest, Kusanagi to protect her as most heroines often do. Momiji's connected story with her twin sister Kaede is one of my favorite parts of Blue Seed and the conflict between them is heartrending. This series is a rare treat for any fan of Japanese lore with the myth of Susanoo and the Kushinada being at the core of the series. I love the music score by Kenji Kawai, one of my favorite anime OST's that he worked on for an anime series plus the OP & ED songs by Takada Band and Megumi Hayashibara (the voice of Momiji). Hayashibara's "Matsuri no Uta" insert song heard in the series finale is so soothing to listen to with its' gentle melody. Fans of Jouji Nakata would enjoy this series as he voices one of his earliest antagonist roles, Murakumo and also has a number of famous and well known seiyuu who also worked on this anime.

Burn Up W

Last Updated: Apr 29, 2014

8.00 (good) With W, despite the ecchi content, it was properly placed and it didn't distract from the plot which centers around the protagonists charged with special missions in which their enemy is a mysterious criminal mastermind. The girls of the OVA have cool personalities and great character design. For a taste of good classic ecchi anime Burn Up W is a title I would reccommend. It has the best of what ecchi has to offer for those who love ecchi. The TV series sequel to W, eXcess is pretty good, but doesn't have the gripping plot and awesome music of the former and the battle armor for eXcess looks horrible looking, the battle armor of W is better designed. I do like the love story for Maki in the TV series though and considering the end left her story open-ended, I tend to think she and Masato ran off together to start over.

Devil Hunter Yohko

Last Updated: Apr 05, 2013

8.00 (good) Devil Hunter Yohko is a pretty awesome OVA series, I enjoyed the concept of the series of it being a supernatural version of Sailor Moon, even though Yohko predates the Sailor Moon anime series, there are similarities there with Yohko being as boy-crazy as Usagi and having similar hairstyles, but with each episode Yohko develops into a badass demon slayer. Take note that the series is only five episodes long with a music video collection included also the first episode contains sexual situations and the series henshin sequences are fanservice shots, so DHY also has some Cutey Honey undertones as the henshin sequences contain full frontal nudity. Aya Hisakawa, best known as Ami Mizuno/Sailor Mercury voices Yohko and she does a fantastic job with the role and she also voiced Yohko's dark twin cousin Ayako in the final episode, and the song "Touch My Heart" is a well arranged song as Hisakawa performs it as a duet between her two characters. I wish that DHY was a longer series though, for I enjoyed this series very much and how Yohko develops as a character.

8.00 (good) I enjoyed this particular shounen series as it isn't too long or too short, it was just right and kept me interested. Although the tournament arc was my least favorite and it dragged on too long. Shinobu Sensui is my best villain of YYH, I liked how his character was developed. I didn't care for Younger Toguro though, he was too OP for me. The best ship in this series is Hiei x Kurama, they have the best chemistry and the worst is Kuwabara x Yukina. I prefer to ship Yusuke x Botan more than Yusuke's canon relationship with Keiko, I enjoyed the chemistry Yusuke had with Botan best. The second movie was great and it was very engaging to watch, Kurama's former partner Kuronue was hot and the animation for it was truly well made. I also loved the ED song by PERSONZ as well.

8.00 (good) Rewatching the OVA-verse again for what feels like a long time since I last watched it and I still love it after many years. The OVA-verse is rather complex with the overall mythology surrounding the series with the stories of the Choushin (Tsunami, Washu, and Tokimi) and how they weaved the universe, plus how the characters are connected to each other in more ways than one. I'd say when it comes to the OVA-verse, the family tree there is by far the most intricate of family trees in anime/manga. The only series of the franchise I don't like is Tokyo and GXP.

Rurouni Kenshin

Last Updated: Jun 16, 2017

8.00 (good) Pretty awesome samurai themed series, I only wish the Enishi arc was animated though into a season. Loved the first OVA tracing back to Kenshin's past. I also share equal love for Kenshin's relationships with Tomoe and Kaoru, both bonds were endearing and beautiful. With Kenshin's bond with Kaoru, I believe that is the best that shounen romances have to offer and much better than overrated pairs like Inuyasha x Kagome. Kenshin and Kaoru's relationship is based on understanding, trust, and genuine, positive feelings. I overall like the dynamic of Kenshin's group better than Inuyasha's as well. So if you're looking for an entertaining period piece anime, Rurouni Kenshin is one of the best. The two seasons of the TV series, Tsuiokuhen, and even the movie are the good parts of the Kenshin anime. Don't even consider Reflection and Shin Kyoto-hen, they're plain bad. With all the classic anime revivals going on, it's disappointing an anime adaptation of the Jinchuu arc isn't part of it. I enjoyed the live-action movies, the 1st one is the best one for me because of the stand-out performance of legendary singer Koji Kikkawa as Jine Udo in his cold, threatening, intimidating, and blood-thirsty portrayal of the character. It's what led me to become a fan of his; I began to listen to his music and wow he is a great and talented singer, as well as an actor. His stage performances are impressive to watch. Takeru Satoh's performance as Kenshin is excellent and the best interpretation of the character in the main arc of the story.

8.00 (good) It was a truly original series with a great story-line and a vast amount of interesting characters. Mai Tokiha is a great heroine and she is truly an admirable character with how hardworking she is and cares greatly for her younger brother. I also like her strong willed nature and courage. As far what I didn't like about the series is one of my favorite characters Akane was given the short stick with a lack of screen-time and I don't like the pairing of ShizNat either and they're my bottom of the totem poll yuri pair next to Utena and Anthy of Revolutionary Girl Utena.

8.00 (good) A deep and touching series that wrought emotions from me, I loved the TV series adaptation of the visual novel. By the time the finale of the came around, my feels were rather spent from crying at both the end of Minagi's route in the scene with her and Michiru on the rooftop and the tragic fate of Kannabi-no-Mikoto. Both Minagi and Kanna are my favorite heroines of this series as I found their stories the most heartrending and as for the characters themselves in their personality traits; I loved Minagi's gentle warmth, kindness, and how multi-faceted she is and with Kanna, I found her fiery nature rather quirky and is also quite charming when she shows her sweet side. As for the film, the film strays off from the VN so it's best to watch the TV series before the movie, but it gets a plus for showing Yukito x Misuzu and Ryuuya x Kanna romance goodness.

Last Updated: Jun 20, 2013

8.00 (good) Fun series to watch for a good laugh with plenty of super robot parodies galore. I wish Gai Daigoji was around longer than he was, he was such a fun character. Overall, the anime was really good and a fun 90's anime that I recommend to every anime fan. It's got just about everything for everyone to enjoy. The ending could've been done better though. Also it is a shame that the Blank of 3 Years wasn't adapted as a second season to Nadesico, for those who don't know what it is, it's like a VN that tells the events between the end of the TV series to the movie. If it had been made into an anime, things in the movie would've made much more sense. The Nadesico series marks the debut of popular seiyuu, Houko Kuwashima and she does a great job in her first leading role and first role overall in anime.

Hellsing

Last Updated: May 28, 2021

8.00 (good) Alucard is a true badass in every sense of the word and it is my favorite role of VA, Crispin Freeman. The rivalry between Alucard and Alexander Anderson is one of the best anime/manga rivalries ever and having Norio Wakamoto voice Anderson is a great choice for the Japanese dub for the OVA. Both Seras and Integra are badass heroines and I like both of them equally. The Major is one creepy character in many ways, but he is quite cerebral as an antagonist. I was surprised with what became of Walter, but I have to admit, his younger self is quite the hottie. As a fan of Renfield I wish there was an equivalent character in Hellsing modeled after the Dwight Frye version. The ending was a bit of a cop-out though and the animation production could've been more consistent and Satelight did the best job with it. With the TV series, it is actually quite good in it's own right - especially animation-wise. The only disappointments I have with the TV series is Incognito was a subpar antagonist and the final three episodes of the TV series was pretty bad.

All in all, the OVA series is the best that the Hellsing anime have to offer.

Clannad

Last Updated: Nov 10, 2014

8.00 (good) About Clannad, it's a great anime, but I still prefer Kanon as my #1 Key series. My favorite heroines of this series are Tomoyo, Ryou, Nagisa, Kotomi, and Kyou in that order. Akio is an awesome dad and I love his character. For the alternate world OVA's, my favorite one is definitely Tomoyo's, truly romantic and sweet...I wish KyoAni had adapted her After Story ~It's A Wonderful Life~ too. I wasn't too fond of Kyou's OVA because it focused too much on the love triangle stuff. Although Tomoya x Tomoyo is my fave pairing, I equally love Tomoya with Nagisa too and their daughter is a cutie. Aside from Tomoyo and Nagisa's own relationships with Tomoya, Kotomi's bond with him was sweet. Quite a number of scenes made me cry, mainly in After Story. I don't really understand the stuff going on in ep. 22 of AS that had me scratching my head though, so pretty much AS was enjoyable up until before Ushio fell ill. Fuko-related things after her arc was unnecessary and I feel Tomoyo didn't have enough screentime. I don't like Sunohara's arc, it's not that good and I didn't care too much for his little sister. It was also disappointing they shafted Kappei Hiiragi from the anime, After Story would've been better if they had his story instead of Sunohara's, I love Kappei and Ryou's love story and it was a shame it wasn't a part of the anime.

Last Updated: May 29, 2017

8.00 (good) Recently rewatched the anime in glorious BD format and it looks truly amazing, it comes to show how well made older anime was. I also gained a new appreciation for the OVA and it's truly an underrated gem. It has an original story and a variety of good characters including the courageous and sexy Mia Alice, badass Pai Thunder, and menacing antagonist Gil Berg. The camaraderie of the Dangaioh Team is truly soild and they bring out the best in each other by combining their strengths into one when they fight against their enemies. Amazing voice acting by the seiyuu cast and Mayumi Shou was great as Mia, one of her best character roles she's done and Shigeru Chiba was brilliant as Gil, he does fantastic villain voices. I hope Discotek will rescue license this series to give it the proper stateside release it deserves to have. The OP & ED songs are truly awesome and fun to listen to, and Mitsuko Horie has an amazing voice.

8.00 (good) Out of all Rumiko Takahashi's works, this series is pretty solid as she proves she can do a serious and dark work, free of the overused gags that plague her other, more noteworthy series. I find Mermaid Forest to be underrated as most of her fans identify Takahashi with series like Ranma, Inuyasha, Urusei Yatsura, and Maison Ikkoku. I almost think Inuyasha would've been better if it were as serious and as dark like Mermaid Forest. I liked how mature the leads were and that their relatonship is based on understanding and trust, with a tad bit of teasing to keep it interesting, which is what I loved about Yuta and Mana, and I believe that they are the best Takahashi couple IMO.

Vampire Princess Miyu

Last Updated: Apr 09, 2013

8.00 (good) The OVA-Pretty good anime, Miyu was truly a beautiful vampire girl and I truly connected to her and she's quite a multi-faceted character. What I liked about it was it was enchanting and mysterious. The story in the OVA is about Miyu and the spirtualist, Himiko and with each encounter they discover something new about the other and the ending will blow your mind. Naoko Watanabe did a great job in voicing the title character and Mami Koyama is excellent as Himiko, the third episode has the brilliant Kaneto Shiozawa as Larva. This version of the VPM series is closer in tone to the manga.

TV-From seeing the TV series, it has the feel of Jigoku Shoujo with the dark, episodic storylines involving the main character. While the designs look pretty for the characters, I prefer the designs of the original OVA better. Miki Nagasawa and Shinichiro Miki do a great job in voicing the characters Miyu and Larva respectively, just as good as Naoko Watanabe and Kaneto Shiozawa did before in the OVA. Despite the seemingly episodic nature of the series, it does tell a story of Miyu herself and her bonds with Larva, her rival Reiha, and her best friend Chisato.

All in all, I recommend Vampire Princess Miyu for a look into how anime heroines should be, characters with depth to them, charisma, and more than just a pretty face.

8.00 (good) Pretty good series similar to the original Mobile Suit Gundam, Dragonar seems like it improves in areas where Gundam lacks, such as characters adapting to a situation they become entangled in, instead of constantly moping over it, Dragonar's protagonists appear more mature. From what I've seen, the plot isn't similar to Gundam 0079's, as it has its' own, and goes into dramatic situations ivolving both sides of the conflict. One of the characters, Meio Plato is compared to Char Aznable, but he seems more like 0083's Anavel Gato, despite the series predating 0083. I pretty much reccommend the series.

8.00 (good) This is definitely a guilty pleasure anime, but some of the things about it are too cliched such as in the first episode with the only thing that awaken Dark Schneider is a virgin's kiss. Also, the anime adaptation is too short and didn't go into Kall-Su's character very much and the conflict he has with Dark Schneider, so I feel that a couple of episodes could've been made for that. I think what made me give the series a better score is the arrival of Arshes Nei, she's such a dynamic character as an individual and the relationship she has with Dark. The animation is pretty good for an early 90's anime and I enjoyed the seiyuu performances, especially Kazuki Yao as Dark and Rei Sakuma as Nei. It was an alright series despite its' flaws and it's a pretty good series if you want to check out anime with a primarily adult cast. Dark Schneider himself is also a great example of what an ecchi male lead should be like, not these god-awful ones seen in shows like Highschool DxD and Aesthetica of a Rogue Hero.

The protagonists, Pazu and Sheeta are amazing characters that I was invested in and they have an amazing chemistry as a couple. The antagonist Muska was developed really well and he was quite an interesting character in terms of his villainy in how his quest for power and dominance consumed him.

Oniisama e...

Last Updated: Nov 30, 2013

8.00 (good) A pretty interesting anime series, especially as it goes into more controversial subjects than most of today's anime shows and at the time Oniisama e... came out in the early 90's was rather revolutionary as no other series before had handled such sensitive topics such as drug-abuse and serious health issues such as Kaoru having to deal with breast cancer at an early age, so anything that Key/Visual Art's comes up with is nothing compared to Oniisama e..., also it goes into the reality of bullying in school and the psychological effects that it brings to the one who is bullied. Also family issues are done in a realistic sense and not all the families portrayed are "perfect" and have flaws. So far, I do strongly recommend Oniisama e... as it is quite the strong character driven series and some moments will drive you to tears. Also, don't be so quick to judge the characters from who they are in the beginning as they do evolve and develop over the course of the series for the better. I'm happy at all the support it has on AnimeSols and looking forward to the DVD releases.

8.00 (good) Pretty interesting take on the magical girl genre as a deconstruction and turning it on its' head and inside out with the story prgoression and the graphic imagery, however I like the movie series version best as it focuses on the characters more and the relationships that are forged between them. I'd say my favorite character is Kyoko Sakura, I like her fiery personality and how she develops as a character. As a mahou shoujo deconstruction, this series is better than Revolutionary Girl Utena as Madoka Magica has a more interesting concept and how it develops, a better execution of its' plot, and actually has the viewer grow invested in the characters and the character relationships.

It kind of reminded me of Tekkaman Blade in a way as Iria is a young woman who had someone she loved assimilated by an alien being, just like in the case of D-Boy when aliens assimilated those he loved. Great seiyuu work by Iria's VA, Aya Hisakawa...my favorite role by her alongside Yohko of Devil Hunter Yohko and Ami/Sailor Mercury of Sailor Moon.

Alongside Infinite Ryvius, s-CRY-ed is another Goro Taniguchi series I really enjoyed. The artwork is amazing and the music was very cool, especially the upbeat opening. This series is the kind of shounen style series I enjoy most because it gives you plenty of enjoyment without it becoming too much of a chore as it isn't like those long-running type shows that become stale over time. So if you like the shounen genre, but hate having to commit to a long series that's over 200 + episodes, then s-CRY-ed is the series for you. 8.00 (good) A pretty good horror series from what I've seen so far, I like the mysterious elements added to the series that add to the suspense. The one by one killing of characters keeps things surprising and leaves you wondering who will die next. The ending of the show completely surprised me and the massacre near the end was a great way to make the show go off with a bang. However the songs of the series are rather dull to listen to and not that impressive and the female lead Mei Misaki was just another Rei Ayanami expy character archetype though that is until I saw the OVA and my opinion of her changed and I felt so sorry for her losing her beloved sister, the secondary female lead Izumi Akazawa was also an interesting character.

After War Gundam X

8.00 (good) One of my favorite Gundam AU's alongside Gundam Wing that I loved and enjoyed, from the story to the well told and well executed romance between Garrod and Tiffa, the best Gundam couple ever IMHO. It's a shame that this great title is underrated and underappreciated and far better than that overrated Gundam SEED. There could've been a couple of episodes dedicated to how Jamil's group was formed in order to know those characters better and the connection between Jamil and Lancerow in how their rivlary was forged in the past war. Another flaw was that the Frost brothers aren't good antagonists, they seem rather one-dimensional.

Idol Densetsu Eriko

8.00 (good) Idol Densetsu Eriko is a truly wonderful and inspirational shoujo series. I find the title character Eriko Tamura a very wonderful role model for girls; someone who is earnest with herself and those she cares for, and is always kind to others, and doesn't let fame go to her head. With her rival/friend Rei Asagiri, you'll find someone who is a complex character, so don't judge her too harshly although she may appear as standoffish. Overall, this kind of idol show is much better than crap like K-ON! and the songs aren't sung by chipmunk-sounding singers (Awesome job Eriko Tamura and Maiko Hashimoto!). The negative thing I can say about this series is that it slows down after ep. 40 and the filler episodes aren't really good, but improves by ep. 45 as it approaches the climax. In the end it turned out to be an enjoyable slice of life series and shows superb character development.

8.00 (good) Fate-I like this route as it ties together elements of the previous Holy Grail War in the resolution of the Saber/Gilgamesh conflict and Saber coming to terms with her feelings of Kiritsugu through Shirou. Shirou's duel against Kirei in the final act in his present level at that point makes more sense than against Gilgamesh in UBW. The 2006 anime was enjoyable to watch, I liked that it included elements of the the other two routes. I love the songs by Sachi Tainaka for the anime and her rendition of "THIS ILLUSION/disillusion" is my favorite. In how I feel about Shirou, yes he's got too many flaws working against him and the that was a negative point in the 2006 anime adaptation, I believe that he's a better character in HF and UBW.

Unlimited Blade Works-Although the action scenes are strong in this route, the story-line falls flat. Rin is a great heroine, but I feel her route didn't do much for her character. Saber, Sakura, Illya, and Rider were not given good roles in UBW. Caster and Shinji are the absolute worst characters in UBW. Issues I have with the 2014-15 adaptation is character design work in areas and the chemistry between Shirou and Rin was lacking (If Tomonori Sudou had directed UBW, he definitely would've shown strong chemistry between Shirou and Rin). The songs for the 2014-15 adaptation were amazing and they're great to listen to.

Heaven's Feel-My favorite route of FSN - the story is more engaging, the dynamics played out with the primary heroine Sakura showing interesting facets of her character, Rin and Sakura's relationship being explored, Rider having a much better role than the other two routes, and I consider Ilya a heroine in her role. Shirou's character development is amazing and he became a badass in the final movie, especially in the duel against Kirei. The romance and chemistry between Shirou and Sakura was absolutely beautiful. Tomonori Sudou's work as director was brilliant - with the positive reception of the trilogy, he crafted a true masterwork. Yuki Kajiura's music is breathtakingly haunting and enchanting, she always does great music scores for anime projects she's involved in. Now that the trilogy is complete, I feel the creative staff did this route justice.

Golden Boy

8.00 (good) Like Bakuretsu Hunters, Golden Boy is also another favorite of mine in the ecchi category as the characters portrayed in ecchi situations are mainly adult women, which modern anime is seriously lacking in these days. Also the breasts are at a reasonable size as well and compliment the figure of the female characters, rather than overwhelm like those in High School DxD and Queen's Blade. Also the male protagonist Kentaro Oe is another example besides Bastard's!! Dark Schneider of what an ecchi male lead should be...despite Kentaro's weird toilet fetish, his outgoing and helpful nature towards the young women he meets is what shapes him as a character, and he's a pretty smart guy with a good head on his shoulders who's a jack of all trades. So watch this series to see what a fine ecchi series this is.

8.00 (good) A pretty good OVA, I wish there had been more episodes made back then. Seiyuu Miki Itou was great as Alita and I enjoyed her performance. I love the ED song by Kaori Akima, "Cyborg Mermaid", it's a truly beautiful and enchanting song. The live-action movie was very enjoyable and well made with respect to the source materials of the manga and the OVA and the cast gave remarkable performances of their character roles, especially Rosa Salazar as Alita and Christoph Waltz as Ido. I encourage those who love Battle Angel to see the live-action movie. Hopefully a sequel film will be made or a full anime series reboot.

8.00 (good) From the first glance and the intial overview of how the series compares to others' in its' genre, I feel it is a sorely underrated gem. Despite the episodic nature of the series, the female leads are endearing and are pure of heart and mind, plus there is substance to their characters and are more than just a pretty face. It's a wonderful series as the girls aren't shown in a sexual way like in modern anime shows tend to be nowadays, which is a shame as I feel anime girls being portrayed as innocent is becoming a rarity as well as one's who set goals for themselves, which I feel is important in a character. There's nothing I hate more is a female character who is just a piece of eye-candy who do nothing more than flaunt themselves and have no substance to them. All in all, I think Seraphim Call is way better than those crappy ecchi slice of life shows.

8.00 (good) I truly enjoyed this one-shot movie OVA of a fantastic fantasy of a young girl named Yohko Asagiri who becomes an enchanting warrior in a mystical land and I love how cuteness and courageousness combine into one cool character. Her battle outfit is pretty awesome too! Hiromi Tsuru did a good job in voicing the character and among many of my favorite performances by her and Shuuichi Ikeda is great too in his role as the villain. The artwork is splendid for an 80's piece and designed by Mutsumi Inomata, and she creates lovely characters, my favorite of works being Utsunomiko and characters like Velvet and Lailah of Tales of Berseria & Zestiria respectively.

Agent Aika

8.00 (good) The first four episodes of the original OVA are really good and it had an exciting and alluring plot and the last three remind me of stuff from Cutey Honey in a way with Aika fighting against the all-female Delmo group akin to how Honey fights against mainly female adversaries. However, having Rei Sakuma as the sexy Aika Sumeragi and the late Kaneto Shiozawa as the seductive villain Rudolf Hargen give the OVA some bonus points. It was a pretty good 90's ecchi series overall. The first Aika anime is how an ecchi anime can be good without dumb school settings and situations involved and it is one with a plot. I'm kind of glad Rei Sakuma didn't reprise her role for the prequel OVA's because it would've been a waste of her talent as they were pretty bad, so my score will only reflect towards the original. The plots in the prequel OVA's were rather lame and didn't do Aika's character justice, I didn't like how they showed her younger self as Rion-esque, what they did with Gust is even worse. It would've been better if they showed younger Aika as a kuudere-type, developed her background more as a Salvager, with mature settings (like how Triage X is) to compliment the atmosphere of the original OVA.

8.00 (good) The original OVA had an intrguing and exciting plot-line, I only wish they had made more episodes for this series, but for a one-shot anime OVA it was one of the best ones I've seen. Reimi is my favorite of the trio of heroines as she has a pretty cool personality and character design. The battle armor designs are really badass too ^__^
