8.00 (good) A pretty good male character-centered school series, I love the voice cast and the main characters, it's a shame that this series isn't that popular because I find any series featuring female eye-candy in school shows to be rather overrated while those having male eye-candy to be underrated. Aside from those aspects, it is a very good anime, albeit an underrated one, I loved how intelligent and likeable the main characters were, each with a unique personality, and intelligent as well. I also like the political drama aspects of it too and the comraderie of the five main Strahl candidates and Sir Isaac have and the story is quite intriguing. The second season is my favorite of the two, it has a deeper story involved and I liked the three new Strahl candidates introduced, especially Elmunt and I love the bond he has with Camus(he's so moe at times <3), Elmunt kind of looks like Yuuichi from Kanon 06, but I would say my favorite pairing is Lui/Naoji, the two look they have a deep connection. I reccommend this series very much for those who love bishounen anime. The VA performances are also splendid as well.

8.00 (good) I enjoyed this series, the story was quite engaging and the characters were well written. The characters themselves were well casted and those performances I enjoyed the voice work by all the seiyuu, they did a great job with their respective characters. I love the animation, it's well crafted in the color scheme used and the characters and settings are beautifully made. The relationships Yuki has with Luka and Kanata are interesting too and it's hard to decide which I ship Yuki with more. Touko is an amazing heroine among the series' female cast, she's a courageous young lady with a good heart. Rayflower's songs for the series are great to listen to. The only issue I have is that it didn't go much into Luka's twin brother, Luze, he has a stronger role in the manga where the story continues and could've benefited from a second season, which is rather sad as the anime industry caters with too much boys idol anime, because I feel shows like UraBoku have more to offer in regards to its' compelling story.I hope a second season will be considered in the future. UraBoku is one of my favorite shounen-ai series alongside Saint Beast.

8.00 (good) This series is one of many reasons why the 90's produced the finest anime, although this series was made at the turn of the next decade for anime. Blue Gender is every sense of the word a true, adult-oriented anime with the overall setting, situations, and characters. It's a well-crafted series created for a late 90's series and has great detail on character facial expressions when showing his/her emotional state, such as anguish or fear. The only flaw I have to say is that the animation direction could've been more consistent. I loved how the series and the characters developed by the second half of the series, especially for series' leads Yuji Kaido and Marlene Angel in the ups and downs of their relationship together from the moment they met to when they fall in love with each other and eventually consummate their love. It's a shame this series is underrated, it deserves more love, for when it comes to mecha romance...this is one of the better ones as it feels endearing and real.

8.00 (good) It's great to see that another of Kouta Hirano's works adapted into an anime, after watching the preview OVA it was an instant hook for me. I like how the scenario is developed surrounding the historical figures used in this series and how they're presented. It's always welcoming to see Oda Nobunaga portrayed in anime/manga like this series has done as a manly badass as I get annoyed at the gender-bent portrayals of him. I feel this series did an amazing job in mingling together the various historical figures from differing time periods. Overall, it's an entertaining series that's both action packed and funny (although there are some strange parts) with great voice acting by the seiyuu cast.

8.00 (good) A very sweet and good mahou shoujo series, a much better one than Sailor Moon and Madoka. I feel this series is rather underrated and doesn't get the love it deserves. Pretear tells a beautiful story that weaves elements from classic fairy tales such as Snow White and Cinderella, and it blends well together. I love the funny moments the series has and the romance between the characters, especially Hayate and Himeno. Himeno is by far the best mahou shoujo heroine as she isn't high maintenance, not an over-emotional crybaby, and is a kind girl who goes out of her way to help others, and doesn't have a selfish bone in her body. So I encourage those who haven't seen Pretear to see this truly beautiful and heartfelt anime.

8.00 (good) Pretty cute series that I enjoyed watching with an equally cute heroine in Hikaru. I would see this working as a hentai series too considering the chemistry between Hikaru and Sigil, plus the relationships they have with the guys that they love. Otherwise, it's a cool yet underrated 90's OVA that I feel folks take too seriously because its' meant to be a guilty pleasure anime.

8.00 (good) A very awesome battle ecchi series with great characters, the vocal performances by the seiyuu were really spot-on and many of them are my favorites such as Kotono Mitsuishi, Ai Orikasa, Yuko Miyamura, Junko Iwao, and Yuka Imai...I wish veterans like them were cast as lead characters in anime because of the incredible talent they have and I feel they are being underused. Anyway, the story was really good and the designs were very sexy for the well-endowed characters. This series is one piece of the pie that made 90's ecchi so cool, because it wasn't just about the T&A, but also delivered on developing the story and characters as well.

8.00 (good) Truly another amazing series by Shinichiro Watanabe; it's quite engaging, original, and the story has interesting twists and turns to sink your teeth into. The animation is gorgeous and great detail in the background and settings. I like the voice work by the FUNimation VA's they cast in the character roles, Jamie Marchi is quite amazing as Five. My favorite character is Kenjiro Shibazaki, I like his intuitive tenacity in investigating the case with his renegade nature. Although Lisa Mishima is a typical doormat character in how she is portrayed, considering her bad home life it's understandable why she is the way she is. Twelve is a sweet young man in caring for her and the bond they have is endearing. I do feel the ending could've been better with at least one more episode made.

8.00 (good) Amazing OVA series, I like how it goes into what a cybernetic being such as Armitage herself asking the question "If they (humans) hate us so much, then why did they create us?!", it's a pretty powerful statement and shows the depths of her character and shows that she is more than a machine. I love how she has a fiery, interesting personality and the relationship she has with Ross is a special one that I love as well. I enjoyed Hiroko Kasahara's performance as the title character from the original OVA; from someone who usually does characters with a gentle persona such as Kasahara, she did a great job in performing a more hardcore character. I wish Kasahara was a more prolific seiyuu, she's certainly one of the better ones as she has great range and possesses a fine acting and singing talent. A shame that Kasahara didn't reprise the role for the sequel movie, but Ryoka Yuzuki did well with the role as she voiced the role as close to Kasahara's Armitage. I preferred the gritty feel of the original OVA as it was done by cel animation. The antagonist of the sequel movie wasn't as memorable as D'anclaude of the original OVA, I really enjoyed Ryuusei Nakao's performance as D'anclaude and he does great in playing villain roles. What I did like about the sequel movie is the family relationship shared between Armitage, Sylibius, and their daughter Yoko and the couple's determination to always protect Yoko.

8.00 (good) A pretty funny and enjoyable series, definitely one of many examples why 90's anime is truly fantastic. Yuko Miyamura's performance as the female lead, Natsuki is so very moe and the character herself is quite moe, especially when she does cute things. It's sad that Miyamura's talent is taken for granted these days with no new roles for her, I truly desire to hear her wonderful voice in more roles, she definitely deserves it. The relationship between Natsuki and Batanen is so cute between a younger female and older male character, which is another thing I like. One of the saddest parts of the series is when Natsuki is faced with prejudice on the part of humans, mainly by Fonne who hates her kind and rather live in an all-human world, and it hurts the innocent heart of Natsuki who only desires peace between humans and beasts. The only thing that I found a flaw in is the consistency in the animation direction. It would've been nice if there had been a second season made though just to see Batanen and Natsuki get together, they're a cute couple for a May-December one. Otherwise, it's a fun and entertaining anime to watch.

8.00 (good) This series was a pretty awesome anime and Clare was an amazing heroine with great vocal work by her seiyuu, Houko Kuwashima. The only thing I didn't like was Clare's companion Raki, he would've been less annoying if he were a female character I guess, but it would've added a cool shoujo-ai element to the series. Although many hate Priscilla for what she did to Clare's first companion Teresa, that event is essential to the plot of the story in Clare's conflict with Priscilla. It's a shame that there isn't a second season to this anime, it would be nice to see that happen. It's certainly much better than shitty harem ecchi anime the industry continues to shove down our throats.

8.00 (good) This is quite enjoyable for a modern ecchi anime series as it does has something going for it with an engaging plot and a badass male protagonist in Takashi Komuro. I almost wish more modern anime leading male characters in ecchi were modeled more like Takashi and not shitty ones like DxD's Issei. It is pretty good for an ecchi series and like many of the fans of the series wish there was a second season, it certainly deserves it.. As far my favorite female characters go, I like Rei Miyamoto the best as she is a multi-dimensional character in her strengths and flaws which balance out well. The character that deserves all of the hate is that creepy Kouichi Shidou, I really can't stand that guy and understand why Rei despises him so much. In regards to how the fanservice is used in this anime, the slow motion shots in the 8th episode were pretty bad, otherwise it was handled pretty well and didn't detract from the story itself. I had my misgivings about this series, but I don't anymore and find HOTD a very good anime, and now I like it.

8.00 (good) Pretty interesting anime series, it's quite original and the characters are quite diverse too. GoHands made another fantastic series with their crisp animation quality alongside my favorite title they did, Mardock Scramble. My favorite character is definitely Saruhiko Fushimi, I like his deadpan snarky attitude and he's also pretty hot too. His frenemy relationship with Yata is quite interesting too. I love both Mamoru Miyano and Johnny Yong Bosch's performances as the character. I'm not too fond of Neko though, she's rather one-dimensional and is just there for fanservice. I like Tatara Totsuka's character too, he certainly was the heart of HOMRA with his sweet-natured personality and can see why Mikoto Suou was determined to avenge his death. Tatara's song used for one of the episode's ED's was really good, I wish it was the main ED. I watched the English dub for the first season and the VA work was really good, however I feel Crispin Freeman would've made a better Mikoto and Kari Wahlgren for Seri. Tomokazu Sugita is amazing as Reisi Munakata and Yui Horie brings out a sweet performance as Anna Kushina. Horie's song for the 2nd OP is amazing and is another favorite of mine for the series. This is definitely another fantastic series of this current decade for anime and I recommend it. Both seasons were really amazing, but if I had to choose one as the best it would be S2.

8.00 (good) I truly enjoyed this anime OVA series considering the two main characters are voiced by my favorite seiyuu, Takeshi Kusao and Junko Iwao. Kusao is definitely the king of voicing fantasy knight characters as he has done so many in his career. I loved the story, setting, voice acting, and brilliant artwork. I wish it was given the TV series treatment to flesh out the story and characters more though.

Kannazuki no Miko

Last Updated: Jan 24, 2016

8.00 (good) This series is quite good and enjoyable; the artwork is really well made and beautiful, the story is quite engaging with exploring the varying aspects of love both pure and impure, and shows the facets of the two main characters Chikane Himemiya and Himeko Kurusugawa as individuals and as a pair. As far as the relationships in this series, the most complex one is between Chikane/Himeko...especially concerning Himeko's deep rooted feelings for Chikane and how it conflicts with her relationship with Souma Ogami, even before the events of the fateful 8th episode. I love the music of this series and the OP & ED themes by KOTOKO. The seiyuu performances are excellent and both Ayako Kawasumi and Noriko Shitaya both shine in their respective roles. The flaws I saw in this series is that the majority of the Orochi group suffer lack of characterization and development with vague insight on their backgrounds, except for Tsubasa. The weakest of the Orochi was Reiko and I felt she was just there to fill out the ranks. As for the ending, I appreciated the touching and emotional moments between Chikane and Himeko with them being honest in their feelings for one another. I pretty much liked the good aspects of their relationship and like all relationships, there are major hurdles in the road and I believe they overcame them with the tremendous love they have for one another. It is also a story of redemption as Chikane experiences a fall from grace and with Himeko's gracious heart, she brings Chikane back to the light with her love and warm feelings, something I feel Chikane haters take for granted. If you love shoujo-ai anime, then Kannazuki no Miko is a series to watch.

8.00 (good) Really good series from what I've seen of it, I like that it has an original concept and cool characters to drive the story who each have a likeable quality about them. I would say that this a neat series for anyone to watch because there's an inspirational quality that warms your heart in the bond the five main characters have with each other, plus they're hardworking and go the distance in each of their endeavors. This is a great series to watch to draw out inspiration from as the girls are always true to themselves and what they believe in. I also like that they gain real world experience to help them grow. I love the OP song by Kalafina, it really suits this series but I wasn't much into the ED song though. The only issue I have is the anime character designs looking more closer to the K-ON! look rather than the original designs by Mel Kushida. Otherwise, it doesn't affect how I feel about this series and consider amongst my favorite shows of this current decade.

8.00 (good) This is such a heartwarming, charming feel-good series that certainly carries the qualities of an iyashikei style anime. If there ever was an anime that a fan who is a parent would want to show their young ones and family, this series is one I would recommend and it teaches important life lessons. I really liked this lovely treasure as it is sweet and endearing. The ending is rather open ended though and it would've been nice if it were a coming of age tale to see where the bond of Claude and Yune would go...would Yune fall in love with Claude as she grew up more or would she maintain her platonic love she has for him. From my experience in watching the series, I felt there was a strong connection between them in their bond and wonder what would develop between them in the future. At any rate, this is a fun little series to see.

Koutetsujou no Kabaneri

Last Updated: Dec 16, 2016

8.00 (good) I definitely feel this series is so much better than Shingeki no Kyojin, the key ingredient Kabaneri has at its' core that I feel makes it stand out and find endearing is that it has heart in the character relationships among the group that's quite strong. Also, the characters themselves are developed rather well and they have interesting qualities within them, especially Mumei. The main antagonist, Biba adds a new dimension to the series with his cold ambition and showing what a complete monster he is moreso than the Kabane. Mumei's characterization takes on new facets as the series grows as she is portrayed as quite a headstrong and fiery girl, but a vulnerable side is shown. I was sad when a good character was killed off, he was truly a strong character and felt he was better than the MC. The characters who surprised me the most were Ayame and Kurusu; I liked how Ayame developed as a strong leader for the group and how there's a sensitive side to Kurusu in regards to his feelings for Ayame. I think Kurusu and Ayame would make a cute couple. Another element Kabaneri has that I like is Haruhiko Mikimoto's character designs, his work is always a treat to see. I think the series could've had another episode near the end where it doesn't feel rushed. This anime is certainly my favorite of the Spring 2016 season and happy that a second season will air in 2018.

Heroic Legend of Arslan (Hiromu Arakawa)

Last Updated: Sep 15, 2016

8.00 (good) Very engaging series with a diverse cast of characters and fantastic battle scenes. As far as which character I'm most fond of it is Hilmes/Silver Mask, he's the most interesting and his character development is the best. My dislike for Alfreed has waned considerably, but I think she suits Elam more TBH. I''m glad that Arslan grew more ambitious as the story developed. His thing with Etoile is quite cute and I think they suit each other pretty well. I don't like the 2nd OP & ED that much and prefer the 1st ones better from the S1. I'm disappointed that that S2 is only 8 episodes long and wish it was given a full cour especially with the epic battle that's to come for all involved. Arslan has grown in his character development and is a stand-out character in his own right, but I feel Hilmes still holds the gold for his development in S2. Hopefully the story will be concluded in an epic movie conclusion with a battle royale of the four sides aiming for the top and that the final battle will be decided with Arslan vs. Hilmes.

8.00 (good) Quite an amazing series for an ecchi anime, both Arashi and Mikoto are badass characters, even the pop idol girl Oriha has her own badass edge...hell everyone is a badass in this series among the Triage unit. I'd say my favorite character is Mikoto Kiba, she's a passionate character in standing up for what she believes in and she has an awesome sex appeal. For an ecchi show, it is really good because it's not centered on those stupid harem school settings and actually is an adult oriented title. This is another fantastic Shouji Sato title alongside HOTD, he sure knows how to make ecchi have entertainment value through an engaging plot and awesome characters. The quality is much better for the uncensored version. I liked the OVA episode too as it wasn't another cliche hotspring/beach vacation episode and provided a neat extension of Sayo's backstory and the bond that formed between she and Yuko as it developed into a mother/daughter type of relationship when Sayo warmed up. Hopefully there will be another season of this series, the story of these characters are really interesting and I would like see more...the same sentiment is felt for HOTD as well.

8.00 (good) It's an amazing anime and very thought provoking with the types of concepts that were explored the series. It's sad that this series is underrated, although watching it for the first time can lead to confusion as a viewer in what is going on, don't let that alone be a reason to avoid the series or the more obvious one of this series being an Evangelion-expy. This series does things much differently than Evangelion and when I myself watched it, I could see the major differences. "The Dandelion Girl" story penned by Robert F. Young that served as an influence on the making of RahXephon resonates strongly. The bond between Ayato and Haruka is one of my favorite strong points in this series and you can see where "The Dandelion Girl" story mirrors the Ayato x Haruka relationship. Watch the movie after the series to get better clarity of Ayato and Haruka's relationship in its' inception when they were still in junior high. I love how their relationship transcends time and thought the movie did a good job in presenting that. I feel Haruka is the best heroine in this series and she's such a beautiful character with her passionate heart and courage. The TV series and the movie are different in how the story is told with plot differences and is a good accompaniment. Although I would've liked the movie better with a full widescreen presentation and upscale the animation of theatrical quality. The music of the series is excellent with Ichiko Hashimoto's OST and the OP song "Hemisphere" sung by Reika Mishima's seiyuu, Maaya Sakamoto. A friend of mine recommended to me to watch this series and I encourage the same to others to watch RahXephon.

8.00 (good) Quite a charming and heartwarming series and I like the friendship story it has surrounding the main characters and certain parts pang at your heart, especially during the tense scenes. Naruko is my favorite character of the bunch, she's quite interesting and has a gorgeous character design. The ED song is really good and the trio of seiyuu who voice the main girls of the series did a great job with it and the song brings tears to your eyes. Overall, I'd say it deserves it's popularity and I love the Easter eggs peppered into the series itself, like at the store Naruko works at with posters of shows like Working!! and others shown. I watched the follow-up movie and I wish it gave more on Anaru (Naruko) and Tsuruko (Chiriko) being able to truly express their feelings to the ones they love to give better closure to the series.

The plot is really good and entertaining, the ecchi elements are handled tastefully, and the OP & ED songs for the series are enjoyable to listen to. Kaito Ishikawa and Haruka Tomatsu deliver excellent performances as the leads and their characters have great chemistry. This is one other series I feel deserves a second season.

8.00 (good) This is just my feelings on the anime series, Ga-Rei: Zero and I thought it was a pretty good series with an engaging plot. I found Yomi Isayama an interesting character in how she develops throughout the series. Sure the first two episodes can cause some confusion and I do think it could have followed a more chronological setup to see Yomi's transformation from protagonist to antagonist come naturally, rather than know the outcome as the series progresses. It was quite the interesting transformation though for Yomi and she's one of the few characters in anime I feel carries that dual role as a protagonist and the fall from grace she experiences that leads her to become an antagonist quite well. I like the OP & ED songs the seiyuu of Kagura and Yomi and a great songs to listen to. It would be nice if the original Ga-Rei series were adapted as an anime, I think it would be a great gift to give fans of this series.

8.00 (good) It's is a pretty good anime, quite original for a fantasy series and I was surprised at the end the 4th episode with the feels that take place, really hard hitting and heartbreaking. The series kind of has AnoHana vibes in a way even though the main characters weren't childhood friends, but they have a pretty sweet bond as comrades and what happens at the end of the 4th episode in how it affected the group. When Mary comes into the group, I liked how they were able to heal each of their broken hearts by opening up to one another with time, growing stronger together and always having each others backs. I can't choose whose the best girl of the series, all three were really good characters in each of their own way and how they grew as characters. The OP song is quite amazing and has a nice beat to it.

8.00 (good) This was such a charming little series that touched my heart in the various emotional scenes that took place as the story progressed. Such a heartfelt drama done in such a beautifully crafted way in how one can relate and/or connect to one of the characters. I connected to the story of Sentaro, he touched me the most with his warm and fun personality that shines through his tough guy exterior, combined with his sensitive and caring heart, I'd definitely would want to give Sentaro a hug. The human element is a key piece I liked in this series as there were flaws within the characters themselves that balance out their strengths. I also loved the time period in which the series is set and the coming-of-age tale it tells in how the characters grow from high school students to adults. Shinichiro Watanabe does an amazing job with slice-of-life dramas as he does with sci-fi stories like Cowboy Bebop and Macross Plus. Yoko Kanno works her magic as always with the jazzy music score. If one thing I wished the series did; though minor, was include seiyuu like Kouichi Yamadera and Megumi Hayashibara as guest voices that would've been a nice touch.

8.00 (good) Truly a beautifully created series by CLAMP with a fun and engaging story, great characters, nice songs, and excellent voice acting by the seiyuu cast. I like this better than Sailor Moon because I feel Sakura is more of an inspirational heroine with her genuine and kind personality, courage, and is one I can say is a great role model for young girls in how she stays true to herself yet also strives to achieve something more and grow as an individual. The chemistry between Sakura and Shaoran is amazing in their shared character arc in how they grow close to one other is endearing. I get the feels when Shaoran and Sakura share a touching moment together and are a great anime couple. The animation style for the new anime looks great and it's doing everything right by using the same staff and cast of the original. Watching the new OVA was amazing as the seiyuu did amazingly well in voicing their respective character roles after all these years and still sound the same as they did back then. I look forward to Winter 2018 to see all the heartwarming feels of Shaoran and Sakura's relationship as a couple.

8.00 (good) This was certainly an enjoyable and hilarious anime to watch, certainly a good anime to watch for some lighthearted fun. Hiromi Tsuru was fantastic as Mikami and now another favorite character she played alongside Lufy of Gall Force and Madoka Ayukawa of Kimagure Orange Road. The characters were an interesting and eccentric bunch, especially Meiko and her shikigami with their antics which is one the reasons why I liked this anime and another is having a great cast of seiyuu portraying the characters and each did an amazing job with their respective character. The OP & ED songs are great to listen to as well, I liked Yumiko Kosaka's song the best. If you liked this series, check out 1996's Haunted Junction it has a similar feel to Ghost Sweeper Mikami in the supernatural comedy elements.

8.00 (good) This is a pretty engaging anime series with the variety of character types it has and how they interact with each other. I enjoyed the plot twists it had, how the story developed, and how the characters grew and evolved. Altair definitely was the star of the show in how she was presented and actually I came to understand and sympathize with her character in the end with how she passionately cared for her creator Setsuna and her desire to give her creator justice by any means necessary. I truly enjoyed Re:CREATORS as it has both heart and soul in painting a portrait of creators and their creations for better or worse in how the creations define their creators and vice versa. The seiyuu cast did a great job with their respective character roles and again Hiroyuki Sawano delivers an amazing OST as he always does. It's definitely original in its' concept and that's what makes this anime so fun, yet it's also thought provoking when it comes to analyzing the characters.

8.00 (good) My feelings towards this anime adaptation is positive, although 8-Bit doesn't have a stellar reputation in how they adapt VN's, this anime was an enjoyable watch. Amane Suou and Kazuki Kazami are my personal best girls in this series, I'm glad their story was the main focus as it was the most engaging and heartrending for me. Their friendship was one of the best highlights of this arc. I felt Yumiko Sakaki's character arc could've been given an extra episode to her story in the anime. Yuuji's tragic backstory covered in Meikyuu and even through the terrible things he had to endure in his young life he grew into an admirable young man, caring for the girls around him and treating them well as seen in the present timeline, show the strength of his character. The story between him and Asako that was told in the first few episodes of Rakuen was pretty good, however I don't believe sex should've been part of the equation of their relationship. I really enjoyed Rakuen because the action, plot, character development was solid and strong. This series is by far the best VN adaptation 8-Bit has made of the works I've seen.

8.00 (good) This was a really entertaining series to watch and very engaging in telling the coming-of-age story these characters and the close-knit ties they have to one another. Rin Matsuoka came to be my favorite character of the entire series and he really developed as a character in the second season. The relationships of the characters are endearing in their camaraderie to one another and how each will do whatever it takes to support the one they're closest to. The anime series has a great cast of seiyuu and I loved Mamoru Miyano's performance as Rin and Yoshimasa Hosoya as Sousuke, but I feel Makoto and Nagisa's voices as children could've been performed by seiyuu who have a better grasp of voicing young boys like Houko Kuwashima and Mamiko Noto.

8.00 (good) For a movie that has so much hype surrounding it, I can positively say that it's well deserved as I enjoyed watching it. I like it better when Makoto Shinkai makes feature length works that allow time for story and character development like Kimi no Na wa was. The story was original and Taki and Mitsuha were really fantastic characters and their bond is quite unique for an anime.

8.00 (good) Quite an original series with an engaging story and amazing characters. Nezumi and Shion's relationship was so sweet and they make a cute couple. The performances by Yoshimasa Hosoya and Yuki Kaji as Nezumi and Shion respectively were really good and I like them together. Aimer's song used for the ED was truly beautiful and stands as my second favorite song by her (my #1 favorite Aimer song is from the Heaven's Feel movie). The character designs were well made as well, my favorites being Nezumi and Shion's. Shion's mother Karan was beautiful too and she was a kind and caring lady.

Lelouch of the Rebellion

8.00 (good) Watching Code Geass as a seasoned anime fan helped me appreciate this series more than when it debuted and I can positively say now that the creative staff made a memorable series whose popularity is well deserved and much better than Gundam SEED & 00. Geass serves as a double edged sword to Lelouch as he is able to conquer over Britannia in short amount of time that would’ve taken many years without it, but as a consequence it affects the relationships he has with those closest to him. Kallen is best girl because as an individual she is strong-willed, loyal to those closest to her, fights for what she believes in, and passionate in her endeavors. The best girl for Lelouch is C.C. because she has the best chemistry with him, they understand one another really well, and their connection to one another felt real. I didn't like Rolo, there was nothing sympathetic about his character. The voice acting was good, would've preferred Akio Ohtsuka as Charles and Masaya Onosaka as Lloyd in the Japanese dub and Melissa Fahn as Nunnally in the English dub. I don’t like the second OP song in the first season, it wasn’t that good. R2 had great songs and the best songs were those by FLOW and Orange Range.

I don't like they made an alternate continuity movie series though, especially with a new movie that feels too much like fan-fiction material. Something much better would be like how The Origin is for Gundam with the narrative detailing events preceding Britannia's declaration of war on Japan, during the war, the aftermath when Japan becomes Area 11, and the rise of the resistance movement in Area 11 leading up to where the original series begins. It would also serve a purpose in rounding out primary characters such as Lelouch, Suzaku, and Kallen in building the basis and the drive in the respective paths they embark on in the original series.

8.00 (good) Revue Starlight is definitely my favorite 2018 anime with it's great narrative and strong character dynamics of the nine girls with the rich scope of emotions each of them go through during the course of the series. Best girls and pair for me is definitely Nana and Junna, I would've given the series a point higher if Nana and Junna were the primary focus. There was a lot of depth in their relationship, they're a perfect compliment to each other. The same can be said of Maya and Claudine as a pair, the chemistry between them is strong to be an actual shoujo-ai couple. I like the songs very much, especially the OP theme, the Nana X Junna version for the ED is my personal best for the song "Fly Me to the Star" followed by the Maya x Claudine version. All the voice actresses who voice the character roles sing really well and each suit their respective character well.

8.00 (good) Kimetsu no Yaiba surely set a high standard as evidenced by how popular the series is. What I like about this series as whole is its strong character and story development, that the plot is well written and focused, and a courageous, determined, and kind protagonist in Tanjiro.

7.00 (above average) The first Gundam series was an average watch for me, I can't see why the first entry of the Gundam metaseries is "masterpiece" worthy, most of the battles were downright predictable from the get go, it felt like every Amuro vs. Char battle had things going in Amuro's favor, which is a slap in the face to battle veteran Char, for once I would've liked to see Char get the upper hand on Amuro. The Origin is a great addition in telling the story of Char and Sayla before the One Year War, although I wish this was being made as a TV series instead considering the large gap Sunrise gives OVA's these days in releasing new episodes. The character that shined for me the most was Sayla Mass, she goes through quite a lot in the series, and it was her that made me give the series a good score.

The Melancholy of Suzumiya Haruhi

7.00 (above average) A fun watch to perk you up with an interesting take on a silce of life anime, definitely worth watching it in chronological order rather than the production order. In regards to Endless Eight and if you like completing shows, then don't try to marathon Haruhi S2, considering E8 is often a headache to go through. If you don't want to watch all the E8 eps., then only watch the first two and then the last. It probably would've been interesting if E8 eps. 2-7 used different VA's to voice the main characters to make it less annoying to watch through. I truly loved the movie and it is definitely the best of the anime productions of the Haruhi-verse, I loved the Kyon/Yuki moments and I feel deep down, Yuki loves Kyon and vice versa and I love them together. The spinoff is so fun to watch, especially since Asakura and Tsuruya are more involved than they were in the Haruhi-verse and I like the version of Haruhi in this series, she's less abrasive than the Haruhi in the main series. It was pretty cool that the spinoff placed elements of the original series as well. The twist with Yuki's personality change was quite good in terms of what the other Yuki in her bond with Kyon and personally I wanted that side of her to win because she was more honest with her feelings. I hope with the upcoming completion of the Yuki Nagato spinoff manga, that there will be a second season made for the anime version, also the Yuki that is primarily shown becomes more honest with her feelings as the other one was.

Ranma 1/2

7.00 (above average) My favorite Rumiko Takahashi title I enjoy with its' blend of martial arts action, comedy, and slice of life-romance elements, I love Ranma and Akane as a couple and enjoyed them even more when they had a sweet moments together, their love song in the OVA series is another ingredient that makes me adore them as a couple, for it explains their strong feelings for each other. A series truly deserving of another anime series, which I feel will bring in more fans to this truly wonderful franchise. However, if another anime series is made, I would prefer it to leave out the random love interests for Ryoga and Ukyo and pair these two up, because they had great chemistry and I think they would make a fine match and an anime original ending where Ranma and Akane are married. Ranma and Akane are at their best as a pair when left alone without their pushy fathers and romantic rivals getting in the way, then they are able to connect as a couple. I think Shampoo is overrated, I don't like her with Ranma, she uses cheap tricks to gain Ranma's affections and against her rivals. I also hate how she bullies poor Mousse. If the Ranma/Akane pairing didn't happen, I think Ukyo would be the best choice for Ranma and she suits him more than Shampoo. It's sad to see Akane haters bash her, she's done nothing to deserve it...she goes through so much with having to deal with the likes of Kuno and those lame boys at school and not getting the support she needs from her family to set her on the path to being a fine wife for Ranma. I think Kasumi should be more engaged in teaching Akane the tools she needs to be a good cook. Akane is a sweet natured young lady with a big heart. I don't blame Ranma for his occasional bad treatment of Akane, I blame his uncouth, lame-ass father for not teaching him the right way to treat the opposite sex considering how poor he treats his own wife, Ranma's mother. Kodachi's terrible and annoying, of all the characters I would write off completely from the plot it would be her, she should've never been created.

7.00 (above average) This was a pretty amazing series, but I think having the first episode of the TV anime would've been better placed as the last. The animation was really amazing at the time and has aged well in my opinion, much better than the animation of the movies. It's disappointing the new TV series is still cast the seiyuu who did the movies, I wished they recast those roles to better VA's by casting seiyuu who would come close to the performances done by the seiyuu of the 1997 anime. I believe Yuuichi Nakamura would've been awesome as Guts, Daisuke Ono or Daisuke Namikawa for Griffith, and Ayako Kawasumi for Casca. Anime production for a reboot should've gone to Madhouse or MAPPA and directed by someone who can do the series justice.

7.00 (above average) The original OVA is my all-time favorite of the franchise with the engaging stories it had, episodes 1-3 and 7 being my top favorites and I absolutely loved the song soundtrack, truly the best one I've heard. The characters were really awesome and my top five favorites are Priss, Leon, Linna, Reika, and Nene. The only character I really didn't care too much for was Sylvie TBH, I feel her character was a negative point in Priss' character development. It's a shame production problems prevented the planned 13 episodes being halted by the 8th episode. I was disappointed with the ship teasing for Leon and Priss, I wanted them to hook up and become official, but perhaps if the episodes had been continued, I'm sure they would have gotten together. The original language version had a great cast of voices of the finest seiyuu and singers Kinuko Ohmori and Maiko Hashimoto did a great job with their roles, yet the dub is terrible so only watch it in Japanese. Crash was the one part of the franchise I disliked, it felt like badly written fan-fiction stories combined with bad animation quality. AD Police Files was awesome; I loved the mature aspect of it, Jeena was a real badass, and I would've liked more episodes of it to lead to the rise of the Knight Sabers and what happened to Jeena. 2040 was a good series story-wise, but the character personalities are left to be desired and lack the fine qualities their OVA counterparts have, plus the solid bond they had and it felt too volatile. However; I'm glad that Leon and Priss came to be a couple in this series, that Mason had more of a role as an antagonist and was more fleshed out than his OVA counterpart, the animation quality was really good, had a great dub, and the OP song is pretty awesome to listen to.

Catgirl Nuku Nuku

7.00 (above average) Loved the first OVA and DASH was a good series with the alternate storyline with Ryunosuke as a teenager and falling in love with Nuku Nuku and his parents still together. I see Nuku Nuku as one of the pre-moe era moe characters as she does a lot of moe-like things, but by the same token still being a kick-ass cat girl as she fights to protect those closest to her. The TV series was alright, but don't expect much in terms of plot though as it is a comedic slice-of-life series, but in the end you'll understand why Nuku Nuku is a truly endearing cat-girl android, because of her heartfelt humanity and it's a shame she's such an underrated character, because I find she has a more likeable personality than the overrated Chii from Chobits who I find one-dimensional.

7.00 (above average) Of what was made into anime format for 3x3 Eyes was a fun watch and Yakumo Fujii and Pai make an cute pair and I loved their romance, this was also one of the best adventure stories I've seen in a series ever, especially with the gripping story and incredible action scenes with twists and turns in the plot. From continuing to see the series through the manga, the only complaint I have is the overpowered villains Benares and Kaiyanwang, the former needed to have some sort of weakness.
