7.00 (above average) This series is quite cool, fun, and I'm loved every moment of it, especially the dynamic between Kuuko-Nyaruko-Mahiro-Hasuta. Rie Kugimiya sounds so kawaii in her role as moe-shota Hatsur, a quite different role for someone usually type-cast as a tsundere. Speaking of playing against type, it looks like the role of Luhy Jistone is quite a unique role for Mariko Kouda. All the references it had to other series was also a treat. I gave this a good score because I didn't take it seriously and just had fun with it. The second season was alright, I wish Luhy had more screen-time though, but Kuuko having feelings for Mahiro was an interesting plot twist, and I seem to ship the two of them as a couple. I suspect that Luhy maybe a shota-con for Hasuta though. I don't like that Luhy wasn't included in the new OVA...it feels she is the most short-changed character in the show with so little screentime.

4.00 (below average) The second half of the series killed it for me; with Gavlet falling for Daba's Mary-Sue sister instead of Leccee, which I saw potential in. Daba's sister was the worst character of the series, not only was she ugly with that large fore-head of hers, she added unnecessary fuel to the rivalry between Daba and Gavlet. The series would've been better without Daba's sister so Gavlet and Leccee could've hooked up. Also Leccee's defection was wasted because she couldn't handle being in the love triangle, so I think it would've been better if she stayed in the Poseidal Army and have that love/hate thing for Daba, kind of like with Haman for Char in Zeta. The ending sucked and I felt sorry for Amu...she deserved a happy ending after all she did for Daba.

8.00 (good) Alucard is a true badass in every sense of the word and it is my favorite role of VA, Crispin Freeman. The rivalry between Alucard and Alexander Anderson is one of the best anime/manga rivalries ever and having Norio Wakamoto voice Anderson is a great choice for the Japanese dub for the OVA. Both Seras and Integra are badass heroines and I like both of them equally. The Major is one creepy character in many ways, but he is quite cerebral as an antagonist. I was surprised with what became of Walter, but I have to admit, his younger self is quite the hottie. As a fan of Renfield I wish there was an equivalent character in Hellsing modeled after the Dwight Frye version. The ending was a bit of a cop-out though and the animation production could've been more consistent and Satelight did the best job with it. With the TV series, it is actually quite good in it's own right - especially animation-wise. The only disappointments I have with the TV series is Incognito was a subpar antagonist and the final three episodes of the TV series was pretty bad.

All in all, the OVA series is the best that the Hellsing anime have to offer.

8.00 (good) Very engaging series with a diverse cast of characters and fantastic battle scenes. As far as which character I'm most fond of it is Hilmes/Silver Mask, he's the most interesting and his character development is the best. My dislike for Alfreed has waned considerably, but I think she suits Elam more TBH. I''m glad that Arslan grew more ambitious as the story developed. His thing with Etoile is quite cute and I think they suit each other pretty well. I don't like the 2nd OP & ED that much and prefer the 1st ones better from the S1. I'm disappointed that that S2 is only 8 episodes long and wish it was given a full cour especially with the epic battle that's to come for all involved. Arslan has grown in his character development and is a stand-out character in his own right, but I feel Hilmes still holds the gold for his development in S2. Hopefully the story will be concluded in an epic movie conclusion with a battle royale of the four sides aiming for the top and that the final battle will be decided with Arslan vs. Hilmes.

8.00 (good) This is quite enjoyable for a modern ecchi anime series as it does has something going for it with an engaging plot and a badass male protagonist in Takashi Komuro. I almost wish more modern anime leading male characters in ecchi were modeled more like Takashi and not shitty ones like DxD's Issei. It is pretty good for an ecchi series and like many of the fans of the series wish there was a second season, it certainly deserves it.. As far my favorite female characters go, I like Rei Miyamoto the best as she is a multi-dimensional character in her strengths and flaws which balance out well. The character that deserves all of the hate is that creepy Kouichi Shidou, I really can't stand that guy and understand why Rei despises him so much. In regards to how the fanservice is used in this anime, the slow motion shots in the 8th episode were pretty bad, otherwise it was handled pretty well and didn't detract from the story itself. I had my misgivings about this series, but I don't anymore and find HOTD a very good anime, and now I like it.

8.00 (good) Pretty dark and interesting short OVA, I liked the incestous tension between Chizuna and Kazuna, which is played out better than in Vampire Knight. It also has a Romeo and Juliet type edge to it with the forbidden and tragic aspect of Chizuna and Kazuna's reationship.

7.00 (above average) Truly a sweet, yet sad story of the characters Gin and Hotaru of their close friendship that grows into love yet unable to express their affection through touching one another. What they have together is beautiful and endearing, their love is so heartwarming that it's so melancholic when they can not be together physically. The anime itself is an enchanting tale which is good for families to see.

6.00 (average) The movie mystery and festival centered episodes were pretty good and quite lively with the inclusion of other characters, which was the good parts about this anime, otherwise the episodes after the movie mystery and festival arcs were rather dull and uniteresting. The characters of Satoshi and Mayaka are alright characters, not outstanding yet they were good overall. I wasn't too fond of Oreki and Chitanda, Oreki acted too much like a dullard and Chitanda's moe-ness didn't appeal to me as much as her elegant side did. I was more into the supporting characters, like Irisu and Togaito who I wish were leads themselves. Seiyuu work was okay, but I think the vocal/casting director tends to use the same seiyuu too much, it would be nice if he used different seiyuu that he rarely casts.

8.00 (good) A pretty funny and enjoyable series, definitely one of many examples why 90's anime is truly fantastic. Yuko Miyamura's performance as the female lead, Natsuki is so very moe and the character herself is quite moe, especially when she does cute things. It's sad that Miyamura's talent is taken for granted these days with no new roles for her, I truly desire to hear her wonderful voice in more roles, she definitely deserves it. The relationship between Natsuki and Batanen is so cute between a younger female and older male character, which is another thing I like. One of the saddest parts of the series is when Natsuki is faced with prejudice on the part of humans, mainly by Fonne who hates her kind and rather live in an all-human world, and it hurts the innocent heart of Natsuki who only desires peace between humans and beasts. The only thing that I found a flaw in is the consistency in the animation direction. It would've been nice if there had been a second season made though just to see Batanen and Natsuki get together, they're a cute couple for a May-December one. Otherwise, it's a fun and entertaining anime to watch.

8.00 (good) Pretty cute series that I enjoyed watching with an equally cute heroine in Hikaru. I would see this working as a hentai series too considering the chemistry between Hikaru and Sigil, plus the relationships they have with the guys that they love. Otherwise, it's a cool yet underrated 90's OVA that I feel folks take too seriously because its' meant to be a guilty pleasure anime.

6.00 (average) This was a little better than the Iczer 3 OVA, it had potential but it felt like another two episodes could've been made to make the story feel more complete. The concept was pretty good with the battle mecha girl theme; which is quite rare for anime and I like how it connects with the previous Iczer series.

10.00 (excellent) The first Iczer series was the best with its' mature storyline and plot with a great heroine in the lovely Iczer-One and I liked how Nagisa Kanou developed as the reluctant heroine of the series and I love how she found someone to fight for in the little girl Sayoko. Iczer-Two is one amazing character herself and she was quite the badass. I loved the vocal performances of the original seiyuu and anything that has the great Kaneto Shiozawa is pure gold. The music and the songs of the series are just one piece of the pie that made this anime so enjoyable with the 80's vibe it has. I believe this series has aged well with the impressive character designs by the fantastic Toshihiro Hirano, who is one of my all-time favorite manga-ka's.

3.00 (poor) Terrible sequel to the much greater Iczer-One OVA; the main heroine is just annoying as hell and the seiyuu who voiced her was horrible, the so-called villains were appalling and had no appeal to them whatsoever, and overall I feel sorry for Iczers One and Two for being in this OVA.

Idol Densetsu Eriko

Seen: completely

Last Updated: Jan 25, 2016

8.00 (good) Idol Densetsu Eriko is a truly wonderful and inspirational shoujo series. I find the title character Eriko Tamura a very wonderful role model for girls; someone who is earnest with herself and those she cares for, and is always kind to others, and doesn't let fame go to her head. With her rival/friend Rei Asagiri, you'll find someone who is a complex character, so don't judge her too harshly although she may appear as standoffish. Overall, this kind of idol show is much better than crap like K-ON! and the songs aren't sung by chipmunk-sounding singers (Awesome job Eriko Tamura and Maiko Hashimoto!). The negative thing I can say about this series is that it slows down after ep. 40 and the filler episodes aren't really good, but improves by ep. 45 as it approaches the climax. In the end it turned out to be an enjoyable slice of life series and shows superb character development.

8.00 (good) This is such a heartwarming, charming feel-good series that certainly carries the qualities of an iyashikei style anime. If there ever was an anime that a fan who is a parent would want to show their young ones and family, this series is one I would recommend and it teaches important life lessons. I really liked this lovely treasure as it is sweet and endearing. The ending is rather open ended though and it would've been nice if it were a coming of age tale to see where the bond of Claude and Yune would go...would Yune fall in love with Claude as she grew up more or would she maintain her platonic love she has for him. From my experience in watching the series, I felt there was a strong connection between them in their bond and wonder what would develop between them in the future. At any rate, this is a fun little series to see.

Last Updated: Jul 07, 2016

7.00 (above average) This series surprised me in its' originality and Toei did quite a good job in animating Interlude, sure it may feel confusing in some areas but essentially it's about the characters existing in a purgatory-like setting. It's head-stratching that the MC is nameless while his older brother is given a name, so for the hell of it I'll call the MC Fuyuki-kun. His bond that he forges with Aya is quite endearing and I think they make a cute couple and I'd also ship the busty office lady chick Marufuji and Sugiura. The animation is really good for the time of its' release and the voice acting of the seiyuu cast is quite amazing. Aya is an amazing heroine and definitely the best girl of the series, she's a strong young lady.

Inuyasha

Last Updated: Feb 09, 2018

5.00 (moderate) This is one series where I felt the supporting heroine, Sango should've been the primary heroine. Sango had all the positive character traits that make her primary heroine material. I hate Kagome because I feel her bad character flaws such as her whiny, spoiled, entitled attitude being a major turn-off, goes overboard the flurry of "SIT!" commands she uses on Inuyasha, contradicts herself when she "claims" she understands Inuyasha's feelings for Kikyo, reeks of Mary Sue qualities, overall a poor role model, and the worst heroine Rumiko Takahashi created. I like Kikyo better because she's mature and graceful, plus the bond she shared with Inuyasha made me support her with him more. Naraku is worth hating on because of his crimes against Inuyasha, Kikyo, and Sango. He is also a lame-ass antagonist lacking the wicked charisma of Bleach's Aizen and the threatening danger of YYH's Younger Toguro. Sesshomaru and Rin are one of the few saving graces this anime has, they're characters worth investing in and their bond together is far more heartwarming than that of the main characters.

8.00 (good) Pretty awesome anime OVA, Iria is the kind of anime to go for if you're looking for a kick-ass and strong heroine. It kind of reminded me of Tekkaman Blade in a way as Iria is a young woman who had someone she loved assimilated by an alien being, just like in the case of D-Boy when aliens assimilated those he loved. Great seiyuu work by Iria's VA, Aya Hisakawa...my favorite role by her alongside Yohko of Devil Hunter Yohko and Ami/Sailor Mercury of Sailor Moon.

The OP & ED songs are amazing that is another ingredient that sells the series. Joker Game also has pretty good intrigue as well in its' scenario.

8.00 (good) Pretty interesting anime series, it's quite original and the characters are quite diverse too. GoHands made another fantastic series with their crisp animation quality alongside my favorite title they did, Mardock Scramble. My favorite character is definitely Saruhiko Fushimi, I like his deadpan snarky attitude and he's also pretty hot too. His frenemy relationship with Yata is quite interesting too. I love both Mamoru Miyano and Johnny Yong Bosch's performances as the character. I'm not too fond of Neko though, she's rather one-dimensional and is just there for fanservice. I like Tatara Totsuka's character too, he certainly was the heart of HOMRA with his sweet-natured personality and can see why Mikoto Suou was determined to avenge his death. Tatara's song used for one of the episode's ED's was really good, I wish it was the main ED. I watched the English dub for the first season and the VA work was really good, however I feel Crispin Freeman would've made a better Mikoto and Kari Wahlgren for Seri. Tomokazu Sugita is amazing as Reisi Munakata and Yui Horie brings out a sweet performance as Anna Kushina. Horie's song for the 2nd OP is amazing and is another favorite of mine for the series. This is definitely another fantastic series of this current decade for anime and I recommend it. Both seasons were really amazing, but if I had to choose one as the best it would be S2.

Last Updated: Jan 24, 2016

8.00 (good) This series is quite good and enjoyable; the artwork is really well made and beautiful, the story is quite engaging with exploring the varying aspects of love both pure and impure, and shows the facets of the two main characters Chikane Himemiya and Himeko Kurusugawa as individuals and as a pair. As far as the relationships in this series, the most complex one is between Chikane/Himeko...especially concerning Himeko's deep rooted feelings for Chikane and how it conflicts with her relationship with Souma Ogami, even before the events of the fateful 8th episode. I love the music of this series and the OP & ED themes by KOTOKO. The seiyuu performances are excellent and both Ayako Kawasumi and Noriko Shitaya both shine in their respective roles. The flaws I saw in this series is that the majority of the Orochi group suffer lack of characterization and development with vague insight on their backgrounds, except for Tsubasa. The weakest of the Orochi was Reiko and I felt she was just there to fill out the ranks. As for the ending, I appreciated the touching and emotional moments between Chikane and Himeko with them being honest in their feelings for one another. I pretty much liked the good aspects of their relationship and like all relationships, there are major hurdles in the road and I believe they overcame them with the tremendous love they have for one another. It is also a story of redemption as Chikane experiences a fall from grace and with Himeko's gracious heart, she brings Chikane back to the light with her love and warm feelings, something I feel Chikane haters take for granted. If you love shoujo-ai anime, then Kannazuki no Miko is a series to watch.

10.00 (excellent) My favorite of the Key series and I also feel that this is the best of Key's works by far (the 2006 KyoAni version + the original VN), with its' broad and various character types, masterful storytelling, and how it challenges the characters to deal with the hardships of life; such as rejection, problems within family relationships, tragic and life threatening accidents, etc..., and how they overcome those obstacles. I wish Key had continued making stories centered on the Kanon characters in their own After Story...such as meeting Yuuichi's parents, Yuuichi and those he cares for experiencing life as adults, and the like. Nayuki is my favorite girl of the series because she is the one I relate to the most and she's a total sweetheart. I equally love the primary heroine Ayu too, she's a cutie and quite quirky, and the friendship she and Nayuki share is adorable. Mai and Sayuri are characters I'm fond of too and what they share as friends is very endearing. Makoto is quite a vivacious character and her lively nature is entertaining to see, a shame what befalls her though later into her arc. With Shiori, she is a good character, but all I can see her in regards to a relationship with Yuuichi is like siblings. Nayuki, Mai, or Ayu are my top choices for Yuuichi's romantic prospects. I love that the KyoAni version cast Tomokazu Sugita as Yuuichi, he's an amazing seiyuu and Mariko Kouda's Nayuki was so moe. Akiko is my favorite Key mom, she has a lot of great qualities that I admire about her...even though she has that mysterious bad jam she makes...it's ingredients are one of the fun mysteries of anime. All in all, Kanon 2006 is an anime I highly recommend.

7.00 (above average) Pretty good urban thriller series, I only wish they had formatted it as a TV series to follow the story chronologically, having the series run in a half-hour episode format, and given 24-26 episodes though. The fifth movie exceeded Evangelion in the mind-fuck department for sure, and the pacing felt rather weak for that episode. Shiki is a pretty interesting and multi-dimensional heroine and Mikiya is a good male protagonist, and I like his kind and mature personality. The two of them are a really good couple and I like the dynamic of their relationship. Maaya Sakamoto and Kenichi Suzumura did a fantastic job in this series and the roles they played are my favorites they have done. Overall, the animation is truly beautiful as expected from ufotable and alongside Fate/Zero, I love their excellent quality they have in their work. This is a very original series in terms of modern anime and I recommend it very much.

4.00 (below average) It wasn't that good and doesn't work as a one-shot OVA, it didn't really develop the story or the characters all that well. This would've worked better if it had been made in the 90's with Megumi Ogata and Rica Matsumoto voicing the leads.

8.00 (good) Pretty good series similar to the original Mobile Suit Gundam, Dragonar seems like it improves in areas where Gundam lacks, such as characters adapting to a situation they become entangled in, instead of constantly moping over it, Dragonar's protagonists appear more mature. From what I've seen, the plot isn't similar to Gundam 0079's, as it has its' own, and goes into dramatic situations ivolving both sides of the conflict. One of the characters, Meio Plato is compared to Char Aznable, but he seems more like 0083's Anavel Gato, despite the series predating 0083. I pretty much reccommend the series.

6.00 (average) The TV series was too much of a trainwreck for me, it felt like much of the melodrama was forced and the story itself was like a badly written soap opera. I am not a fan of Mitsuki's route to be honest and she and Takayuki are a terrible couple, with all that happened I think it would've been better if they had gone their separate ways too. The friendship element is not strong in this series, which was another disappointing factor and it was taken for granted. The character designs by Yoko Kikuchi in the TV series was pretty and loved how Haruka and Akane looked, the two are my favorite characters of the series. I am more a fan of Akane's spinoff OVA, Akane Maniax as it was an enjoyable watch and Jouji was a cool male protagonist and I loved his personality, both he and Akane would've made a great couple. I think this series is in need of a remake with a faithful adaptation to Haruka's route, because I feel it is the best route of the series and incorporate more elements of Akane's route.

I would recommend this hentai to fans of the genre. The sequel, Kite Liberator was quite bad and didn't have a good story to it like its' predecessor. It also left things in a cliffhanger as well. The animation was also lame, the original Kite looked much better.

6.00 (average) For a guilty pleasure series, it's an alright one, so be sure not to take it too seriously and expect a serious plot or anything. I like the character Eucliwood Hellscythe, she definitely shows that's she's not the emotionless girl type and does show her emotions when a troubling situation calls for it. For a modern anime piece, I like that it doesn't go overboard with the ecchi content like most anime of this period tend to be like, however the OVA and Season 2 tended to focus a bit much on the ecchi. Fumi Hirano's voice as Delusion Eu in the first OVA episode wasn't a good choice, she doesn't sound cute sounding anymore like she did when she played Lum, so another seiyuu pick would've been better, not just her but Yuko Minaguchi, Noriko Hidaka, and Sumi Shimamoto weren't good choices either. Seiyuu like Megumi Hayashibara, Aya Hirano, Junko Iwao, and Kana Ueda could've been used though to voice Delusion Eu, all the other seiyuu who did Delusion Eu were good choices.

Last Updated: Dec 16, 2016

8.00 (good) I definitely feel this series is so much better than Shingeki no Kyojin, the key ingredient Kabaneri has at its' core that I feel makes it stand out and find endearing is that it has heart in the character relationships among the group that's quite strong. Also, the characters themselves are developed rather well and they have interesting qualities within them, especially Mumei. The main antagonist, Biba adds a new dimension to the series with his cold ambition and showing what a complete monster he is moreso than the Kabane. Mumei's characterization takes on new facets as the series grows as she is portrayed as quite a headstrong and fiery girl, but a vulnerable side is shown. I was sad when a good character was killed off, he was truly a strong character and felt he was better than the MC. The characters who surprised me the most were Ayame and Kurusu; I liked how Ayame developed as a strong leader for the group and how there's a sensitive side to Kurusu in regards to his feelings for Ayame. I think Kurusu and Ayame would make a cute couple. Another element Kabaneri has that I like is Haruhiko Mikimoto's character designs, his work is always a treat to see. I think the series could've had another episode near the end where it doesn't feel rushed. This anime is certainly my favorite of the Spring 2016 season and happy that a second season will air in 2018.

6.00 (average) It's an average series, I like Kannazuki no Miko much better as it's much more engaging. Kuu is a one-dimensional heroine, all she does is make herself a victim for no reason and there's no positive qualities to make up for her extremely flawed character. She pretty much embodies the typical doormat character archetype. Kannazuki's Himeko is much better than Kuu when it comes to the "pure-hearted heroine" character, at least Himeko has a backbone when it comes to coping with vexing situations and doesn't cry all the time. I also think Setsuna suits Kyoshiro more romantically, it's sad she's not his love interest. Setsuna is more interesting and has the best qualities to be the actual heroine and love interest for the MC, I feel sorry that she holds back her own feelings she has within her heart and see the person she loves give his love to that dullard Kuu. Sometimes I can't help but hate Kyoshiro for how he treated Setsuna like her feelings didn't matter. I hated and loved the ending at the same time...loved it for Kaon/Himiko and hated it because the best girl Setsuna wasn't the one who won the MC's heart. If it weren't for characters like Setsuna, Himiko, Kaon, and Sojiro, I would rate this anime much lower.

8.00 (good) I watched this movie after watching Nausicaa of the Valley of the Wind and liked Laputa as well, even though I still rank Nausicaa as the better of the two amongst Miyazaki's early works, but find Laputa more entertaining than Spirited Away. The protagonists, Pazu and Sheeta are amazing characters that I was invested in and they have an amazing chemistry as a couple. The antagonist Muska was developed really well and he was quite an interesting character in terms of his villainy in how his quest for power and dominance consumed him.

7.00 (above average) The first half of the series is rather slow in regards to the pacing, but the second half of the series is where it gets better and I was rather surprised about Sophia being royalty. One other issue I have is the animation direction, it seems to be disjointed where at certain episodes the quality looks good, but at other times it looks bad, mere background characters looking static, facial expressions looking plain and not detailed in areas, and the color scheme looks rather drab in areas. So pretty much I feel this has not aged well. The ED song is pretty good and fits the tone of the anime, but I don't really like the OP song...something like a Maaya Sakamoto or Akino Arai song would've been a better choice for an opener. At times I get Turn A Gundam vibes from this series especially since the heroine of Last Exile, Lavie reminds me a little bit of one of Turn A's heroines, Sochie Heim. My overall feelings about it is that it's a good series with amazing characters, Claus and Lavie's relationship is endearing even though it's not a romantic one, but the climax felt rather underwhelming.

7.00 (above average) Truly a wonderful series by the animation studio, Production IG. I loved the mysterious intrigue of the series and how all the pieces of the puzzle came together by the time the climax of the series came about. I was quite surprised in some parts, especially near the end. I saw the series in the English dub, and the roles were casted well and the voice acting was brilliant, especially David Matranga's performance as D'Eon de Beaumont. Although I wasn't fond of the supernatural stuff in this series and it did take too much liberties concerning the historical figure Maximilien Robespierre in this fictionalized take on pre-French Revolution events that didn't make sense to me.

9.00 (very good) This series is truly amazing in so many ways; from the setting in which the story takes place to the numerous cast of well-written characters. What's so awesome about this series is that it goes into several philosophies and how each of them differ that really get you thinking in how relevant in today's world politics. My favorite faction was definitely the Galactic Empire under Reinhard von Lohengramm's rule, he was a man that had a great vision and there was that alluring aspect in his character that made me feel if I was a part of that environment, I would definitely would want be on his side. As much as I loved Reinhard, the Free Planet Alliance's Julian Minci is definitely the most developed character and he is a great leader in his own right when he matures into manhood. It has the finest cast of seiyuu that I've heard in an anime yet with so many great talents voicing the characters, you'd have to watch the series to hear them all. The only disappointment I have is that one great character left the galactic stage too soon and he was such a beloved character to me that I cried over his death when he made the ultimate sacrifice...his death left more of an impact on me than the one who was killed off later on. Otherwise, this is a series I highly recommend to those who desire to see a glorious anime, however if you decide to see it don't watch the next episode preview, they tend to be too much like spoilers.

Lelouch of the Rebellion

8.00 (good) Watching Code Geass as a seasoned anime fan helped me appreciate this series more than when it debuted and I can positively say now that the creative staff made a memorable series whose popularity is well deserved and much better than Gundam SEED & 00. Geass serves as a double edged sword to Lelouch as he is able to conquer over Britannia in short amount of time that would’ve taken many years without it, but as a consequence it affects the relationships he has with those closest to him. Kallen is best girl because as an individual she is strong-willed, loyal to those closest to her, fights for what she believes in, and passionate in her endeavors. The best girl for Lelouch is C.C. because she has the best chemistry with him, they understand one another really well, and their connection to one another felt real. I didn't like Rolo, there was nothing sympathetic about his character. The voice acting was good, would've preferred Akio Ohtsuka as Charles and Masaya Onosaka as Lloyd in the Japanese dub and Melissa Fahn as Nunnally in the English dub. I don’t like the second OP song in the first season, it wasn’t that good. R2 had great songs and the best songs were those by FLOW and Orange Range.

I don't like they made an alternate continuity movie series though, especially with a new movie that feels too much like fan-fiction material. Something much better would be like how The Origin is for Gundam with the narrative detailing events preceding Britannia's declaration of war on Japan, during the war, the aftermath when Japan becomes Area 11, and the rise of the resistance movement in Area 11 leading up to where the original series begins. It would also serve a purpose in rounding out primary characters such as Lelouch, Suzaku, and Kallen in building the basis and the drive in the respective paths they embark on in the original series.

Little Busters

7.00 (above average) A much better non-KyoAni adaptation of a Key title over Angel Beats! hands down and LB! has better characters and story overall. However, the dub cast is horrible and full of miscast roles, so just stick to the Japanese language version. Rin Natsume is my favorite female character as she has the best character development. Yuiko Kurugaya is my second favorite female character of the series, she has an awesome character design and personality. The only arc I hated was Kud's, hers was forced melodrama (Kud is too overrated a character anyway and I find her annoying). Kengo surprised me the most in his character development for the male characters and Riki was great too in his development. Overall, I enjoyed the series' strong message of friendship and how the Little Busters formed a familial bond with each other. EX is really good and I love Saya's character, her character has a really cool storyline and she's really cute. The romance between Saya and Riki was so sweet. I wish the EX series was longer though and that Sasami and Kanata had a couple more episodes for each of them to equal what Saya received. I don't care about Kud Wafter though and won't watch that one.

Lord El-Melloi II Case Files

9.00 (very good) This is a truly amazing series, I love this series and definitely ranks highly for me as a top favorite in the Fate-verse alongside Apocrypha, Heaven's Feel, and Zero. What sets this series apart is that it goes more into the intrigue at Clock Tower and the Mage's Association as well as the lore of the franchise. I always liked Waver Velvet with his development in Zero, as he became Lord El Melloi II and an instructor at the Clock Tower - what incredible character growth! It's also heartwarming to see him reminisce about Iskandar. It's so amazing to see characters seen in previous Fate series like Luviagelita Edelfelt and Sisigou Kairi. The music by Yuki Kajiura is beautiful and like with Zero and Heaven's Feel, in this series she composed and delivers another masterful score. ASCA's "Hibari" is a beautiful and enchanting song, I'm glad she was chosen to do another song for a Fate-verse anime and ASCA has a beautiful voice. Becoming familiar with the source material to understand the anime is recommended. I want another season of this series, there's so many great adventures and mysteries!

Macross

9.00 (very good) Although the first SDF Macross is a landmark achievement in anime, it suffers from inconsistent animation direction. The DYRL retelling is much better overall with the fantastic animation quality and brilliant climax. I think Minmay's character development was better in the series, while Hikaru's was better in DYRL. I hope that this particular chapter in the Macross saga gets a remake, it certainly deserves it. With Macross II, I definitely think it's much better than Macross 7, I found the characters and story much more enjoyable in II, and I feel II doesn't deserve to be looked down upon so poorly. II has fantastic animation for an early 90's anime and it is a series that I recommend. Plus is amazing and very much one of finest anime series ever made, it would've been nice though if it had a bit more character development for the three leads, so there could've been a better understanding of what shaped them. The dub is worth the watch for any fan of Bryan Cranston, even if there are a handful of mediocre dub performances, Cranston is awesome as Isamu and much better than the original Japanese dub performer.

5.00 (moderate) I could not bring myself to enjoy 7, despite having Max and Milia among the cast, I felt overall the plotline of 7 was rather weak and often the majority of the episodes repeated themselves with the enemy showing up and a battle ensues with Basara singing the same crappy song at each battle. Overall, I wish there had been more done with the much better Plus series rather than 7. The 7 mini movie and Dynamite OVA was crap and I thought both was a waste of cel-ink. The only good things about it besides Max and Milia was their daughter Mylene and the handsome Gamlin Kizaki as well as the impressive looking 90's animation. Otherwise, it was a forgettable series.
