8.00 (good) Really good series from what I've seen of it, I like that it has an original concept and cool characters to drive the story who each have a likeable quality about them. I would say that this a neat series for anyone to watch because there's an inspirational quality that warms your heart in the bond the five main characters have with each other, plus they're hardworking and go the distance in each of their endeavors. This is a great series to watch to draw out inspiration from as the girls are always true to themselves and what they believe in. I also like that they gain real world experience to help them grow. I love the OP song by Kalafina, it really suits this series but I wasn't much into the ED song though. The only issue I have is the anime character designs looking more closer to the K-ON! look rather than the original designs by Mel Kushida. Otherwise, it doesn't affect how I feel about this series and consider amongst my favorite shows of this current decade.

7.00 (above average) The OVA was pretty good with a nice story of the five girls prior to their graduation before going on to the next step in their lives, it would've been better if this had been expanded another three episodes to equally give each of the girls their own episode. Of what was given, the individual focus was on Mami in the 1st episode and Reiko on the 2nd. The ending song hits on the feels and tugs at your emotions.

8.00 (good) The first season was really great with the amazing story and character development, the battle scenes were well choreographed as well. Even after watching Exodus, I still think S1 was the better series as the story, character development, and action complimented one another and was overall better constructed. Exodus was good, but not as great as the first series and the OVA that centered on Ryou and Yumi was. I wasn't too thrilled with the songs for Exodus either and wished that there were more of a variety of artists to do the songs. I was glad that Kenji and Sakura advanced their relationship and Kouyou returning in the second half of Exodus.

9.00 (very good) I personally liked this better than the original series, not because of the updated art or anything; but how the story was structured with the different plot twists, the protagonists Susumu and Yuki are much better as characters in their development and how they are throughout the series, and the inclusion of more females into the series...I especially liked Kaoru Niimi's character. Although it was painstaking with the time they took in releasing it, I suppose it was worth it considering the hard work the creative staff did with series. I hope one day the Macross TV series will get the same treatment, for that's another older series in need of an updated reboot.

9.00 (very good) I see this series as being one of Tomino's best works, because usually whatever he does tends to disappoint me in some respect, but with Ideon he did a fantastic job with this series, especially with the serious nature of the story of how everyone of the protagonists from kids to adults ends up fighting in the war with the Buff Clan. Ideon is one of those series that had blown me away literally, especially by the Be Invoked film finale that sums up what it means to be shocked out of your mind. The only problem I had is one of the pivotal characters shown in the series is killed off too soon, she could've been around throughout the rest of the series to the finale, she was an excellent character with a lot of potential.

5.00 (moderate) Quite an interesting take for an anime with the character names tied to their seiyuu, but the series could've been more enjoyable if it was at least a 6-episode OVA. At times, depending on a series, I feel for these OVA's that are two episodes long are too short to develop the story especially if it has potential to be a fun series.

9.00 (very good) I love this series and understand why this it's so beloved by many, Lawrence and Holo are amazing characters and their relationship is beautiful, heartwarming, and sweet. Their chemistry is outstanding and they compliment each other so well. I like how they're mature characters and that they respect one another, yet like to tease one another from time to time which is all in good fun. Jun Fukuyama and Ami Koshimizu are really great together in their roles as the character leads and I like when they work together in an anime. The story arcs are very enjoyable with the different people that Lawrence and Holo meet on their journey. I agree with those who want a 3rd season of this series made and want it too.

7.00 (above average) I watched this series at an anime club I went to and a friend of mine brought this series he owned to watch and from watching it, Spiral was a cool anime to watch and the plot of the series was truly mysterious and compelling. The characters were well written and each of them had a special quality, especially Eyes...he's such a gorgeous character and he is my favorite of the series. The only things I didn't care for were the OP & ED songs and also Rio, I found her character annoying.

7.00 (above average) This was an alright movie, kind of over-hyped and lacks the amazing quality of Miyazaki's earlier films like Nausicaa of the Valley of the Wind and Castle in the Sky. I connected more to the stories and characters of Nausicaa and Castle in the Sky more than Spirited Away.

Last Updated: Jan 10, 2017

5.00 (moderate) I just watched the first series, the Encore OVA, and the second series. S2 surprised me a somewhat, especially with the new heroine Nako being quite endearing and I liked the character development for her. Still the content was cliche and Karinka's role didn't matter that much in S2. I didn't really care for the romance between Nakahito and Kurumi, I think Nako of S2 is better matched with Kurumi, Nakahito looked like more of a little brother figure for Kurumi rather than a love interest. However, Nakahito and Kurumi are a better pair than Kyoshiro and Kuu of Shattered Angels. I think there should've been closure where Kurumi could've said to Saki that she only loves her as a sister (family), it wasn't good for Saki to still have those feelings linger on in Encore. The last Encore episode was too random and not a good way to close out the original series. The OP song is pretty catchy and the animation is pretty good, I disliked the remix version of the song in S2. The animation is pretty good for its' time and has aged well. Overall, this was still an underwhelming series for me though.

6.00 (average) For a shounen-ai/yaoi slice of life anime series, it's rather kawaii. The dynamic between Sora/Yoru x Sunao/Ran's relationship is quite unique, denying their feelings as themselves but being passionate with each other as their Yoru and Ran persona's and knowing who they are to each other as Sora and Sunao, they begin to embrace how they truly feel for each other. Their relationship is one I can be fond of as well as the relationships between Nanami x Shinichirou and Nagase x Gaku, the former being truly sweet and endearing and the latter being a case of opposites attract, but all of the couples having great chemistry. Matsuri is a pretty funny character, I love his outgoing personality and his "Jack of All Trades" club is interesting and fun. However, the anime could've used the main antagonist, Professor Aizawa more than the last two episodes he was in, the hotsprings episode was rather lame and character designs could've been better.

8.00 (good) I truly enjoyed this anime OVA series considering the two main characters are voiced by my favorite seiyuu, Takeshi Kusao and Junko Iwao. Kusao is definitely the king of voicing fantasy knight characters as he has done so many in his career. I loved the story, setting, voice acting, and brilliant artwork. I wish it was given the TV series treatment to flesh out the story and characters more though.

9.00 (very good) An amazing and great concept for the "Tales of" metaseries, to me I feel that this is the best one with the engaging story and the world-building it creates with the connection it shares with the newest series, Berseria. I'm truly am impressed with this series much more than Symphonia. The friendship and brotherhood shared between Sorey and Mikleo is endearing in how strong their camaraderie is and it's quite inspirational. Alisha is quite well rounded heroine with her character strengths and flaws, such as having her ideals challenged when confronted and how she responds to them. Edna's story is heartrending concerning her older brother, Eizen who's a prominent character in the Berseria series and his eventual fate. Rose is the standout character in S2 with her arc. Velvet Crowe of Berseria is quite the badass and I like her character. FLOW's OP "Kaze no Uta" is awesome and the animation sequence is beautifully made. Overall, this was an epic anime series with a fantastic story and interesting characters with how each develop as the series progressed. Zestiria and Berseria are my most favorite Tales of series of all time and I hope Berseria gets an anime series too.

4.00 (below average) It was a pretty average slice of life series and not really an interesting one, I'll give credit that it's one of the few modern anime shows that isn't filled with harem ecchi hijinks and can be watched by every age group with its' lighthearted quirks, but overall it was an underwhelming series where the supporting characters don't have much screen-time and development and the talking bird was rather annoying. The movie was rather disappointing as I felt it could've been longer to go beyond the confession to show Mochizou and Tamako have their first date and have the movie end with their first kiss.

Tekkaman Blade

Last Updated: Dec 16, 2013

7.00 (above average) A must see for any fan of sci-fi mecha anime, both Tekkaman Blade and TBII are excellent series with compelling stories. The first series follows the emotional journey of a young man named Takaya Aiba nicknamed D-Boy by love interest Aki as he must battle against his family and friends as they have been assimilated by the alien race, the Radam and II follows up with the leads, D-Boy and Aki as they lead a new generation of Space Knights against a new threat. I liked both the TV series and sequel OVA equally, and it's a shame that the OVA series is treated with such disdain by fans, for I think animation-wise it was better than original because it used Hirotoshi Sano's designs and it was more adult-oriented. The flaws I see in the original series is the redundant re-cap episodes; which are one too many of, inconsistent animation direction, useless filler episodes here and there, and that horrible Levin character...so annoying and unnecessary...his role as engineer is better served by Honda, so I think the series would've been better without Levin, TBII's Dead End was a much better effeminate character for the series and much better looking. I think the TV series would've been more solid at 39 episodes IMHO.

8.00 (good) Rewatching the OVA-verse again for what feels like a long time since I last watched it and I still love it after many years. The OVA-verse is rather complex with the overall mythology surrounding the series with the stories of the Choushin (Tsunami, Washu, and Tokimi) and how they weaved the universe, plus how the characters are connected to each other in more ways than one. I'd say when it comes to the OVA-verse, the family tree there is by far the most intricate of family trees in anime/manga. The only series of the franchise I don't like is Tokyo and GXP.

7.00 (above average) This series has a great concept in the fantasy mecha genre, an interesting plot, fantastic music by Yoko Kanno, great direction by Kazuki Akane, and a impressive performance by Maaya Sakamoto in her debut role. I love her song that's used for the opening. However I wasn't too fond of her character, Hitomi Kanzaki. The best character in the entire series was Folken, he was the one I connected with the most and prefer him over his younger brother Van and Allen Schezar. I watched the movie version long ago and thought it was okay and recently saw the TV series and thought the TV series was more engaging with its' story line. To be honest I felt the romance was weak between Van and Hitomi, it didn't help that Hitomi spent most of the series pursuing Allen. The series aged quite beautifully, from watching it in the remastered HD version.

The Melancholy of Suzumiya Haruhi

Last Updated: Jul 28, 2015

7.00 (above average) A fun watch to perk you up with an interesting take on a silce of life anime, definitely worth watching it in chronological order rather than the production order. In regards to Endless Eight and if you like completing shows, then don't try to marathon Haruhi S2, considering E8 is often a headache to go through. If you don't want to watch all the E8 eps., then only watch the first two and then the last. It probably would've been interesting if E8 eps. 2-7 used different VA's to voice the main characters to make it less annoying to watch through. I truly loved the movie and it is definitely the best of the anime productions of the Haruhi-verse, I loved the Kyon/Yuki moments and I feel deep down, Yuki loves Kyon and vice versa and I love them together. The spinoff is so fun to watch, especially since Asakura and Tsuruya are more involved than they were in the Haruhi-verse and I like the version of Haruhi in this series, she's less abrasive than the Haruhi in the main series. It was pretty cool that the spinoff placed elements of the original series as well. The twist with Yuki's personality change was quite good in terms of what the other Yuki in her bond with Kyon and personally I wanted that side of her to win because she was more honest with her feelings. I hope with the upcoming completion of the Yuki Nagato spinoff manga, that there will be a second season made for the anime version, also the Yuki that is primarily shown becomes more honest with her feelings as the other one was.

4.00 (below average) This was the most dullest anime I have ever seen, when it comes to Mamoru Oishi's works, I just don't find them at all interesting and engaging. The characters were very lifeless and had no remarkable qualities. All it had going for it was the visuals and decent voice-work for the seiyuu.. So, I don't really recommend this anime...a similar title that essentially has similar themes I feel is much better and has more entertainment value is Gainax's Royal Space Force-The Wings of Honneamise.

6.00 (average) In regards to the adaptation, it had potential...but the production team did not realize that potential. To me, it didn't do much in with character development - not like what The Five Star Stories anime film did which had a similar situation with a single movie made. However, the FSS movie allowed the time to develop the principal characters and it concluded with a fantastic finish. An extra fifteen minutes could've helped this movie for purposes of character development as well as story. Otherwise, the good things I can say about this movie adaptation is that the artwork is really well made for an early 90's production, the voice acting on the Japanese version is really good...especially Toshihiko Seki's Tieh, the music is also fantastic and fits the atmosphere of the world it's set in, and the three lead character's themselves are a fine trio and they work well together.

Hideaki Anno did quite a good job voicing the lead character and the romance between Jirou and Nahoko was really sweet too.

7.00 (above average) One of the good moe series I liked with good characters and just the right amount of fanservice (not too much to overwhelm), the characters of Akari and Hikari are cute and loveable. One thing I wished that this series did was make it longer to flesh out the characters better, like 24 eps. and if a certain imouto didn't interfere with her ni-san's close bond to Akari. VA Jessica Boone was quite adorable as Akari, but I wish another VA played Hikari, I didn't like Cynthia Martinez' performance.

6.00 (average) I found this anime pretty underwhelming compared to its' sister The Princess and the Pilot which was much better because the movie had excellent protagonists to invest in, also it had beautiful animation and an engaging story with the touching journey Charles and Fana embarked on. With this series, it was lacking especially with its' less than detailed character animation that's too simplistic for the year it was made and looked like something done in 2003 or 2004. It also didn't help that the anime ends in a cliffhanger and doesn't complete the journey of Kal's quest to get back his beloved and have their romantic reunion. A positive for this series is I felt Claire was a fine heroine, a kind and genuine person, and I was invested in her character. I'm neutral towards the MC, I wasn't too thrilled with his immaturity for most of the series yet am glad that he did improve near the end, fully embrace his love for Claire, and move forward by letting go of his hatred. This series had potential, but I felt it didn't and likely would have fared better with a studio like Production I.G. to bestow far richer animation with attention to detail and a refined director to fully realize its' potential.

Last Updated: Dec 01, 2013

7.00 (above average) It's an alright adaptation of the VN, but not as good as those that adapt Key/VisualArt's series...ToHeart would've done better if a studio like KyoAni adapted it, since I feel they do a great job in adapting VN's. Otherwise, this series tells a heartwarming story of the devotion that the characters have to each other; be it close family, friends, and/or the relationships that are romantic in nature. Like Kanon, the To Heart series also tells the close bond of two childhood friends that become romantic, however in the second series there are bumps in the road that test the love between Hiroyuki and Akari. I'm glad that Ayaka Kurusugawa has more of a role in the 2nd season, she's quite an interesting character for an oujo-sama and Junko Iwao shines in the role, it's a shame she's not in more VN's...she's truly talented in every way possible. I feel a better seiyuu could've voiced Hiroyuki though, his voice was too raspy-sounding. Someone like Akira Ishida would've been better in the role.

9.00 (very good) A shame that the Tokimeki Memorial series is so underrated, especially the one that stars Shiori Fujisaki whom I feel is such an endearing character, although she may be an overachiever to some and lacking in-perfections that are often sought out to make a character feel more balanced, but I feel Shiori is a character who shows that she is a fine young lady in her mannerisms and a genuine girl. Mami Kingetsu really shined as Shiori and I love the songs she sings for the series as her character. It's sad that the only anime adaptation it got was that two-episode OVA. Tokimeki Memorial has a fine set of heroines that each are special and have a quality about them that is worth admiring that anyone can be inspired by.

10.00 (excellent) I truly loved this OVA series, it provided a good story, character development, and an encouraging message that anything can be achieved through will power and effort. Noriko Takaya is my favorite character of this series as she goes through an incredible transformation throughout the six episodes as she develops as a character. Her onee-sama, Kazumi Amano is also a fine character herself as she goes through changes herself throughout the anime. Both Noriko and Kazumi define what great anime characters are. Jung Freud is also a fun character too and really hot, she's among my sexiest red-heads in anime. Coach Ota is one example of the greatness of old-school Norio Wakamoto with his performance. I also love the performances of Noriko Hidaka, Rei Sakuma, and Maria Kawamura in their character roles and these three fine female seiyuu are among my favorites, they need more roles IMHO. Gainax and all the people who created Gunbuster truly made a masterpiece and it is definitely a series that is a must-see.

6.00 (average) The series tells the story of childhood friends, Tatsuya and Kazuya Uesugi and Minami Asakura, and how their relationship forms into a love triangle when Kazuya falls in love with Minami, but Minami seems to be in love with Tatsuya, and Tatsuya is trying to sort out his own feelings for Minami and his twin brother's feelings for her. However, it's not that great as a romantic comedy as in later seasons, any romance felt a bit bland. As a sports anime, it's pretty good, but overall it's kind of meh, Minami is too much of a goody two shoes at times and Tatsuya often displays jerkass behavior, the only character worth caring for is Coach Kashiwaba, although he is extreme when you first see him, but later on it reveals his true character and how complex he is.

6.00 (average) I prefer the Katsugeki series by ufotable more than Hanamaru because I like the structure of Katsugeki with the overall flow of the story, how the characters are animated, that it's engaging with the action and plot, having a limited amount of characters from the game makes it better to connect with them, the beautiful songs and music, and the overall direction of the series. Also, I like how there is the actual presence and interaction of the Touken Danshi's master Saniwa and loved the heartfelt story of the members of the second unit with their camaraderie, also the feelings of Izuminokami no Kanesada and Kunihiro Horikawa share for their former master Toshizo Hijikata and Mutsunokami Yoshiyuki for Ryoma Sakamoto and how they are challenged in terms of their loyalties to protecting the flow of history as how it happened in reality, their duties as Touken Danshi, to their desire to protect their respective former master. Hanamaru is just too random, mundane, and not enjoyable. The 2nd cour could've spent time with Yasusada when he was on his travels. Also, I dislike the character designs for the actual show.

8.00 (good) Quite an amazing series for an ecchi anime, both Arashi and Mikoto are badass characters, even the pop idol girl Oriha has her own badass edge...hell everyone is a badass in this series among the Triage unit. I'd say my favorite character is Mikoto Kiba, she's a passionate character in standing up for what she believes in and she has an awesome sex appeal. For an ecchi show, it is really good because it's not centered on those stupid harem school settings and actually is an adult oriented title. This is another fantastic Shouji Sato title alongside HOTD, he sure knows how to make ecchi have entertainment value through an engaging plot and awesome characters. The quality is much better for the uncensored version. I liked the OVA episode too as it wasn't another cliche hotspring/beach vacation episode and provided a neat extension of Sayo's backstory and the bond that formed between she and Yuko as it developed into a mother/daughter type of relationship when Sayo warmed up. Hopefully there will be another season of this series, the story of these characters are really interesting and I would like see more...the same sentiment is felt for HOTD as well.

9.00 (very good) The old saying "three times the charm" applies to Turn A for me as now in my third attempt to see this series is giving me a new appreciation that I never had before, especially from the encouragement I was given from a friend. This series, like Gundam X is sorely underrated and under appreciated, Turn A has a fine trio of female lead characters that I find far better than those terrible SEED female leads and even the Gundam lead, Loran is far more endearing than overrated characters like SEED's Kira and Athrun. Dianna Soreil and Kihel Heim are my favorites of the series and their story is truly amazing. Harry Ord is the best Char-clone and to be honest, I like him better than Char because of his great charisma and taste in women, his romance with Kihel was beautiful to see. It's hard to believe that this series never was popular in Japan with Tomino directing what I feel is his best Gundam work, much better than even the original trilogy of 0079, Zeta, and ZZ; also having the music done by Yoko Kanno. I do admit though the DVD cover designs could've been better looking with Yoshihito Hishinuma's designs though, then I guess it could've sold better. All-in-all, alongside Wing, Turn A is a TV Gundam series I truly enjoyed.

8.00 (good) I enjoyed this series, the story was quite engaging and the characters were well written. The characters themselves were well casted and those performances I enjoyed the voice work by all the seiyuu, they did a great job with their respective characters. I love the animation, it's well crafted in the color scheme used and the characters and settings are beautifully made. The relationships Yuki has with Luka and Kanata are interesting too and it's hard to decide which I ship Yuki with more. Touko is an amazing heroine among the series' female cast, she's a courageous young lady with a good heart. Rayflower's songs for the series are great to listen to. The only issue I have is that it didn't go much into Luka's twin brother, Luze, he has a stronger role in the manga where the story continues and could've benefited from a second season, which is rather sad as the anime industry caters with too much boys idol anime, because I feel shows like UraBoku have more to offer in regards to its' compelling story.I hope a second season will be considered in the future. UraBoku is one of my favorite shounen-ai series alongside Saint Beast.

7.00 (above average) Really interesting series and I like the concept of it; the characters are also interesting and have a diverse range of personalities. The MC is a pretty decent guy even though he gets caught in ecchi situations, Takahiro shows that he is character with a good head on his shoulders and not some lame douche-bag with hormones for brains. He's also quite a handsome young man with strong character traits that I can see why the girls are so fond of him, although he could've been more decisive in regards to whom to be a bergleiter to sooner. The artwork is really beautiful and the character designs are splendid, each suit the character. I do think that there needed to be a romance between one of the girls (w/Mio as I think she suits him) plus the last episode fell short of being a fantastic finish and was rushed, I think one more episode could've made it a better ending, and also the outcome was rather predictable. Overall as who I would choose as my top 3 best girls of this series they would be Noel, Mio, and Ayako...I only wish Ayako had more screen-time though. Despite its' flaws it was a good anime and I had a tear in my eye when Noel, Mirielle, and their father shared a tender hug and that he was proud of Noel.

What I liked about it was it was enchanting and mysterious. The story in the OVA is about Miyu and the spirtualist, Himiko and with each encounter they discover something new about the other and the ending will blow your mind. Naoko Watanabe did a great job in voicing the title character and Mami Koyama is excellent as Himiko, the third episode has the brilliant Kaneto Shiozawa as Larva. This version of the VPM series is closer in tone to the manga.

TV-From seeing the TV series, it has the feel of Jigoku Shoujo with the dark, episodic storylines involving the main character. While the designs look pretty for the characters, I prefer the designs of the original OVA better. Miki Nagasawa and Shinichiro Miki do a great job in voicing the characters Miyu and Larva respectively, just as good as Naoko Watanabe and Kaneto Shiozawa did before in the OVA. Despite the seemingly episodic nature of the series, it does tell a story of Miyu herself and her bonds with Larva, her rival Reiha, and her best friend Chisato.

All in all, I recommend Vampire Princess Miyu for a look into how anime heroines should be, characters with depth to them, charisma, and more than just a pretty face.

8.00 (good) A very awesome battle ecchi series with great characters, the vocal performances by the seiyuu were really spot-on and many of them are my favorites such as Kotono Mitsuishi, Ai Orikasa, Yuko Miyamura, Junko Iwao, and Yuka Imai...I wish veterans like them were cast as lead characters in anime because of the incredible talent they have and I feel they are being underused. Anyway, the story was really good and the designs were very sexy for the well-endowed characters. This series is one piece of the pie that made 90's ecchi so cool, because it wasn't just about the T&A, but also delivered on developing the story and characters as well.

6.00 (average) It had potential as it needed more episodes to develop the characters and story better. For an ecchi anime centered at a school setting, it is a cool one because it's at a school where everyone is a delinquent in some form or another. Yuko Miyamura delivered a very delicious and spicy performance as the female lead, Aya Shirakaba, it's a shame she hasn't been in a lot of anime, because when it comes to ecchi shows, she is one seiyuu I want to see in the cast voicing a sexy character. One other flaw I see in it is those ugly twin sisters in the second half, they were annoying and unnecessary, took up screen-time, were bad characters, and the animation could've had a better quality for OVA's of the time.

Victorian Romance Emma

6.00 (average) The first season was good, but the second got too melodramatic for me that it felt too much like a soap opera. To be honest, I wasn't that invested in William and Emma as a couple as I tend to favor in terms of romances of the same vein of couples of differing social classes are those like Andre and Oscar of Rose of Versailles and Jack and Rose of Titanic. Also, I like that heroines such as Oscar and Rose have a strong-willed attitude and Emma lacked that strong will. I didn't like how the rejection of Eleanor by William was handled and made me dislike William considering how insensitive and disingenuous he was towards her. True that he was decisive on who he wanted to be with, but he should have never pursued anything with Eleanor because all it did was hurt her and that's why I don't like him. I sympathize with Eleanor because she was a sweet and gentle person and felt she deserved more dignity than what she got from William. Hans was a great character and preferred him over Hakim and William. There was great potential in Hans' character and was one thing I liked about S2. I wish Hans were in the first season though, to make things more challenging in giving William a solid rival. I also think there should've been a S3 that tells the story of Emma's life in the Jones' household; like how she was genuinely accepted by the patriarch & William's headstrong siblings Arthur & Vivian, William and Emma's marriage, and if Emma became friends with Eleanor which would be nice.

7.00 (above average) A really cute and sweet romance series that was rather heartwarming and fun to see. The animation could've been a little bit better for the time it came out in though for an OVA. Yota is quite the finest protagonist you can come by as he is someone that you can relate to and he is a sweet guy with a good head on his shoulders.

6.00 (average) It's an alright anime, but not a masterpiece like most make it out to be. I would've enjoyed it more if it incorporated iyashikei elements into the series or episodes like Ep. 5 that had a feel good quality to them. With the episodic ones not centered on the main plot, the fifth episode with Princess Charlotte was the best one because it was the most heartwarming and gave Violet a purpose to give happiness to someone, plus their interactions with one another was the most engaging of all Violet's clients. I disliked the 10th episode because it was emotionally manipulative. Also I feel that the members of the CH Postal Company didn't have much dedicated to them, they were just there to support Violet. For example, it would've been nice to see an episode centered on Cattleya and Claudia that tells the story of their relationship. Benedict didn't have much characterization in the series. Series like Cowboy Bebop, Sakamichi no Apollon, and Shouwa Genroku Rakugo Shinjuu are still the best anime drama series to me because they offer better characterization and the emotional scenes feel more naturally drawn out.

7.00 (above average) A pretty good fantasy story about forbidden and tragic love between two couples and a nice compliment to Genmu Senki Leda, designed by the same manga-ka and created by the same studio, Mushi Productions. The seiyuu work is really good as well with fine performances done by Kazuhiko Inoue, Naoko Matsui, Toru Furuya, and Waka Kanda who voice the leads respectively. It would've been better if it had a longer story to flesh out the plot and characters.

7.00 (above average) Another good Marvel based anime production alongside Iron Man that was fun and entertaining to watch, although the guy who was Mariko Yashida's fiance was annoying and an all-around bad character. After seeing the recent live-action movie, The Wolverine, looking back I wish Mariko from the anime was developed as a strong character like she was in the movie, the way she was portrayed in the anime made her too much into a damsel-in-distress.

7.00 (above average) X/1999 Movie gets a 5 and the TV series gets a 9. The movie is a dull adaptation of the series although I did like Junko Iwao's Kotori, Ken Narita's Fuuma, and Tomokazu Seki's Kamui in their respective performances. The TV series allowed for the characters to be developed before we go into the confrontation of the Dragons of Heaven vs. the Dragons of Earth. So to get the best experience of X/1999, watch the TV series.

5.00 (moderate) It's an okay series, I hate the Muraki/Tsuzuki crap, not enough Tsuzuki/Hisoka and the anime itself could've been longer to flesh out the story and characters more.

7.00 (above average) This series was adapted quite well to be honest in taking the story from different points of view in the arcs with four of the heroines, something that is rarely done for anime adaptations of VN's and the four heroines chosen has their own romance story with Haruka. Episode 1-2 act as the base that branch out the story that takes a different perspective in the episodes that follow; 1-4 (Kazuha), 1-2/5-6 (Akira), 1/7-9 (Nao), and 1, 7, 10-12 (Sora). Motoka's arc is told in the minisodes after every episode which is a pretty good way to unwind from the drama as they have a feel good nature to them. The best girls in this series for me are Kazuha, Akira, and Motoka because I feel in each of their romances with Haruka, each of them give him an endearing relationship and are worth rooting for. The sex scenes didn't bother me at all as I've grown accustomed to it since watching the entire classic Cream Lemon hentai franchise and the episodes centered on Ami Nonomura set the tone of incest for future media. I endear more to Ami of Cream Lemon than Sora in this series because Ami has a sweeter personality and Ami had to endure hardships in life due to the consequence of what happened between she and her beloved brother Hiroshi after they were caught by their mother. Regardless of family being around or not, there was never any type of consequence to befall Haruka and Sora as it had with Hiroshi and Ami of Cream Lemon.

7.00 (above average) The protagonists Miyuki and Natsumi are one of the best female anime duos I've seen as they work so well together as partners, both of them are courageous young women with strong hearts who fight for what they believe in and have an admirable sense of justice as police officers. They also have likeable personalities that they would be easy to get along with in real life. The 1st OVA was quite enjoyable to watch and it has good quality animation. The 1st TV series is average at best, the quality is rather lacking in the animation and I feel 26 episodes would've been fine. Also, the episodes with that Chie woman are the worst parts of the 1st TV series, she's an annoying character and I feel the series would be better off without her. I enjoyed the movie very much as it's a plot driven crime drama and the storyline it had was engaging with the tense scenes it had and the action sequences. It also has fantastic animation on all fronts with character artwork and setting detail.
