9.00 (very good) A great, action and adventure packed series and an enjoyable watch. Alongside Cowboy Bebop and Gasaraki, all three Sunrise produced series premiered in the year 1998 and it was a great year for anime. The animation is splendid with beautifully designed characters and a great soundtrack with songs sung by Masahiko Arimacni and Akino Arai. The series is also the debut of seiyuu Ayako Kawasumi with her lead role as Melfina.

6.00 (average) It was an alright anime, sure it had actual physical relationships between the series' couples (George/Yukari & Arashi/Miwako); the things that I felt were needed to make it more solid was character development for Arashi and Miwako too as far as their story is concerned and needed more focus, most of it was centered on George and Yukari. At times I felt the SD sequences that were peppered in were unnecessary, it made the series feel juvenile for something meant to be a josei. Tokumori basically didn't have the development as a character he needed in the anime as the manga had given him. I wasn't fond of the actress' performance who voiced Yukari in the Japanese dub, her voice didn't suit the character and using an actress who is a seiyuu by trade could've done a better job.

7.00 (above average) The Patlabor series is a good change of pace for mecha anime aand it feels more grounded where the timeline of the story takes place. My favorite character in Patlabor is definitely Kanuka, she's amazing and quite the badass. I think episodes 5-6 of the 1st OVA should've been shown last as Ep. 7 felt too random to be a good concluding episode. As far as the two movies are concerned, I feel the 1st was a bit better than the 2nd in terms of story and action, as well as being a fine example of a cautionary tale of the advancements of technology and the struggle of man vs. machine. The 2nd is good in its' own right as a political thriller, but the final battle scene wasn't as exciting as the one from the 1st and was rather vague in Nagumo's story with Tsuge in regards to their past relationship. The TV series is a fun watch to see the characters more fleshed out. That bratty pilot of the Griffon was annoying and it would've been nice if there were some episodes with Kanuka in New York to break the monotony of the random episodes with Noa and the gang in the last quarter of the TV series. Ep. 44 wasn't enough in regards to Kanuka's appearance in the last quarter. The OVA follow-up is a mixed bag with some good episodes and some that are completely useless, overall a disappointment.

8.00 (good) I liked this anime centered around the Shinsengumi; although some events stretch actual history, the series kept true of the strength of the Shinsengumi as samurai. The blend of comedy and drama and both were well balanced in this series. However, I didn't like the OP & ED songs...they didn't really suit this series that much, the songs sounded like they belonged on Gintama.

10.00 (excellent) My favorite of Satoshi Kon's films that I've seen, I enjoyed the psychological elements of the film and it really made me think on some parts as to figure out what was going on, so I watched it plenty of times to understand it. Seiyuu Junko Iwao really did an excellent job as the role of the lead, Mima Kirigoe and I wish she sang for the character too though.

9.00 (very good) This was such a beautiful little series in how it tells a heartfelt story between it's only two primary characters, the warm and welcoming little robot girl Yumemi Hoshino and the jaded Kuzuya in how they're brought together and what develops between them. Although they're polar opposites, a heartwarming bond grows and Yumemi's genuine and kind nature endears her "okyaku-sama" (customer) as he comes to care for her in his time shared with Yumemi. In the realm of platonic relationships in anime, theirs is one I love the most. The Hoshi no Hito movie is a better telling of the story as it completes the life journey of Kuzuya (Junker) as it tells his story as an elderly man (the Hoshi no Hito "Stargazer") and gives hope and inspiration to the three young children who rescued him on his travels the same way Yumemi had for him when he was a young man. It does retell the ONA series within the movie in two sections, I would wait after a long period has passed after viewing the ONA before watching the movie. Planetarian is truly an inspirational anime, it is a series I recommend and one of Key's best works.

8.00 (good) A very sweet and good mahou shoujo series, a much better one than Sailor Moon and Madoka. I feel this series is rather underrated and doesn't get the love it deserves. Pretear tells a beautiful story that weaves elements from classic fairy tales such as Snow White and Cinderella, and it blends well together. I love the funny moments the series has and the romance between the characters, especially Hayate and Himeno. Himeno is by far the best mahou shoujo heroine as she isn't high maintenance, not an over-emotional crybaby, and is a kind girl who goes out of her way to help others, and doesn't have a selfish bone in her body. So I encourage those who haven't seen Pretear to see this truly beautiful and heartfelt anime.

Princess Mononoke

6.00 (average) In how I would rank this film in the Miyazaki films I have seen, this would be 5th place as I believe Nausicaa of the Valley of the Wind is the best of his works followed by Castle in the Sky, The Wind Rises, and Spirited Away. The standout characters in Princess Mononoke for me would be Ashitaka and Eboshi as far as their characterizations in the movie and how they develop. I wasn't that thrilled with San to be honest as her character development wasn't that strong, nor did she have the charm of Miyazaki heroines like Nausicaa, Sheeta, and Chihiro.

Last Updated: Jan 26, 2016

6.00 (average) Even for a guilty pleasure series, it was rather "meh" and didn't do much for me. The first movie would've done fine on its' own, but the sequel OVA's were just average and not that interesting, although I did like the spoofs of other anime, especially in the 4th one with the Kimagure Orange Road movie. What I didn't like was when Kei came into the picture, man talk about a dull as hell character whose only purpose was to deepen A-ko and B-ko's rivalry more and both ignored poor C-ko, who was a good character with her child-like charms and innocence. C-ko may come off as annoying to some with her clingy nature and dependence on A-ko, perhaps she's still considered a child in her homeworld.

8.00 (good) Pretty interesting take on the magical girl genre as a deconstruction and turning it on its' head and inside out with the story prgoression and the graphic imagery, however I like the movie series version best as it focuses on the characters more and the relationships that are forged between them. I'd say my favorite character is Kyoko Sakura, I like her fiery personality and how she develops as a character. As a mahou shoujo deconstruction, this series is better than Revolutionary Girl Utena as Madoka Magica has a more interesting concept and how it develops, a better execution of its' plot, and actually has the viewer grow invested in the characters and the character relationships.

Last Updated: Aug 24, 2016

8.00 (good) It's an amazing anime and very thought provoking with the types of concepts that were explored the series. It's sad that this series is underrated, although watching it for the first time can lead to confusion as a viewer in what is going on, don't let that alone be a reason to avoid the series or the more obvious one of this series being an Evangelion-expy. This series does things much differently than Evangelion and when I myself watched it, I could see the major differences. "The Dandelion Girl" story penned by Robert F. Young that served as an influence on the making of RahXephon resonates strongly. The bond between Ayato and Haruka is one of my favorite strong points in this series and you can see where "The Dandelion Girl" story mirrors the Ayato x Haruka relationship. Watch the movie after the series to get better clarity of Ayato and Haruka's relationship in its' inception when they were still in junior high. I love how their relationship transcends time and thought the movie did a good job in presenting that. I feel Haruka is the best heroine in this series and she's such a beautiful character with her passionate heart and courage. The TV series and the movie are different in how the story is told with plot differences and is a good accompaniment. Although I would've liked the movie better with a full widescreen presentation and upscale the animation of theatrical quality. The music of the series is excellent with Ichiko Hashimoto's OST and the OP song "Hemisphere" sung by Reika Mishima's seiyuu, Maaya Sakamoto. A friend of mine recommended to me to watch this series and I encourage the same to others to watch RahXephon.

4.00 (below average) Overall, I wasn't impressed with this movie. The plot and action scenes seemed all over the place and wasn't at all engaging. There's not that much in the character development department, especially for the trio that shows up near the end as the movie didn't do much with them. I didn't like the ED song either and I wasn't thrilled with how the animation looked either, it would've looked better with ufotable doing the animation production work. This is another work that adds another tsundere role for Rie Kugimiya, so fans of her work especially those who love her portraying tsundere will likely enjoy this movie, although Angela isn't violent or anything...it's just her personality is tsundere. A good thing I can say about this movie is the male lead...he is a likeable character and has a decent and mature personality, which meshed well with Angela.

Ranma 1/2

Last Updated: Apr 07, 2017

7.00 (above average) My favorite Rumiko Takahashi title I enjoy with its' blend of martial arts action, comedy, and slice of life-romance elements, I love Ranma and Akane as a couple and enjoyed them even more when they had a sweet moments together, their love song in the OVA series is another ingredient that makes me adore them as a couple, for it explains their strong feelings for each other. A series truly deserving of another anime series, which I feel will bring in more fans to this truly wonderful franchise. However, if another anime series is made, I would prefer it to leave out the random love interests for Ryoga and Ukyo and pair these two up, because they had great chemistry and I think they would make a fine match and an anime original ending where Ranma and Akane are married. Ranma and Akane are at their best as a pair when left alone without their pushy fathers and romantic rivals getting in the way, then they are able to connect as a couple. I think Shampoo is overrated, I don't like her with Ranma, she uses cheap tricks to gain Ranma's affections and against her rivals. I also hate how she bullies poor Mousse. If the Ranma/Akane pairing didn't happen, I think Ukyo would be the best choice for Ranma and she suits him more than Shampoo. It's sad to see Akane haters bash her, she's done nothing to deserve it...she goes through so much with having to deal with the likes of Kuno and those lame boys at school and not getting the support she needs from her family to set her on the path to being a fine wife for Ranma. I think Kasumi should be more engaged in teaching Akane the tools she needs to be a good cook. Akane is a sweet natured young lady with a big heart. I don't blame Ranma for his occasional bad treatment of Akane, I blame his uncouth, lame-ass father for not teaching him the right way to treat the opposite sex considering how poor he treats his own wife, Ranma's mother. Kodachi's terrible and annoying, of all the characters I would write off completely from the plot it would be her, she should've never been created.

8.00 (good) This is a pretty engaging anime series with the variety of character types it has and how they interact with each other. I enjoyed the plot twists it had, how the story developed, and how the characters grew and evolved. Altair definitely was the star of the show in how she was presented and actually I came to understand and sympathize with her character in the end with how she passionately cared for her creator Setsuna and her desire to give her creator justice by any means necessary. I truly enjoyed Re:CREATORS as it has both heart and soul in painting a portrait of creators and their creations for better or worse in how the creations define their creators and vice versa. The seiyuu cast did a great job with their respective character roles and again Hiroyuki Sawano delivers an amazing OST as he always does. It's definitely original in its' concept and that's what makes this anime so fun, yet it's also thought provoking when it comes to analyzing the characters.

Record of Lodoss War

Last Updated: Mar 23, 2013

10.00 (excellent) The OVA series made for this was an epic masterpiece, from the great OP & ED songs, the characters, the artwork, the story, and the whole package. This is by far the best fantasy anime ever made, if it had been made to an actual anime series, Langrisser would've been a great choice to accompany Lodoss. The choice of VA's was a fantastic choice as well, from legends like Akira Kamiya and Shuuichi Ikeda to the wonderfully talented Yumi Touma whom was a fledgling seiyuu at that time, was a great choice to portray the role of Deedlit. I'm disappointed the TV series didn't use the OVA seiyuu for the characters, so I'll probably not watch it, I'm sure it won't have the same impact the OVA did. The Legend of Crystania series centered on Pirotess could've had better animation, it looks bad. So my score is based only around the OVA.

4.00 (below average) This anime adaptation was truly disappointing, I hate the Kotaro x Kagari pairing the most as it was just pandering to Kana Hanazawa fans to have her character be the winning girl for the Rewrite anime. Kotaro has the best chemistry with both Lucia and Akane, either one deserved to be the winning girl considering they're popular in the character rankings. 8-bit and the series' staff wasted the potential of Rewrite by setting their standards low and is certainly the worst adaptation of Key's works to date. I feel Season 2 was hollow with no heart to it and I hated Kotaro in this arc and it cheated the five main girls of their character arcs being explored. Rewrite would've been better hands if it had been made by the same team behind the adaptation of Little Busters! at JC Staff.

5.00 (moderate) I have average feelings about Robotech, while I acknowledge it helped launch the anime boom alongside Starblazers and Speed Racer, I can't help but say that it skewed the concept of Protoculture from its' original meaning from the Macross continuity when it came to the Southern Cross and Mospeada arcs. Also some of the voices were poorly acted and some sounded too old for the characters actual age and the VA of Minmay was so god-awful, she sounded like a banshee when she spoke and sang, hearing her songs re-inforce my belief that Mari Iijima's songs were the best and brought out the best of Minmay. I blame Robotech for ruining Minmay's character reputation and it's sad to see Minmay bashed because how the Robotech series portrayed her. The only thing I prefer in the Robotech-verse over the original is from the Mospeada arc with Lancer's songs, they were great to listen to and his version of "We Will Win" is much better than Minmay's. Also Tony Oliver's performance as Rick Hunter was really good, I wish ADV had gotten him to reprise the role when they dubbed Macross, he was much better than Vic Mignogna as the role.

10.00 (excellent) Rose of Versailles is a truly beautiful masterpiece of a late 70's-early 80's anime, the series details the life of Oscar Fancois de' Jarjeyes, a girl raised as a man by her father who was only given daughters, so he raises his youngest as a male and as his heir. Oscar truly represents what a strong heroine is, noble and passionate in all her endeavors, and truly is a great role model. It also tells the story of the tragic Marie Antoinette, as she starts off as an innocent young girl, but once she steps foot on Versailles, her life is changed forever, and ends up as a sympathetic character despite her faults. The series is full of romance and intrigue as it leads up to the fateful French Revolution. The series has a similar feel to Legend of the Galactic Heroes, and I highly reccommend Rose of Versailles to anyone.

Royal Space Force: The Wings of Honneamise

Last Updated: Sep 18, 2017

7.00 (above average) For Gainax's first anime, it's a beautiful visual achievement in the background detail for an 80's feature movie and the brilliant music score by Ryuichi Sakamoto is another key feature that showcases how spectacular The Wings of Honneamise is. It's also a quite unique story in the overall setting as it tells the journey of Shirotsugu in his people's quest to the stars as the first man in space with the encouragement of the people he is closest to in his life, such as his comrade Matti and lady love, Riquinni. The conflict in the story is between the opposing nation on Shirotsugu's world referred to as the Republic who attempt to sabotage the launch and provoke the Kingdom of Honneamise into a full blown war and Shirotsugu is determined to make this launch into space a success. It's a great film to see as it has a great message within that no matter what obstacles and hardships may come, to never give up and reach for your goals. In that respect, I see Honneamise as an inspirational movie. The only flaw I see in this movie is that scene where Shirotsugu forces himself on Riquinni, that scene was rather distasteful and takes away from Shirotsugu's character development.

Last Updated: Jun 16, 2017

8.00 (good) Pretty awesome samurai themed series, I only wish the Enishi arc was animated though into a season. Loved the first OVA tracing back to Kenshin's past. I also share equal love for Kenshin's relationships with Tomoe and Kaoru, both bonds were endearing and beautiful. With Kenshin's bond with Kaoru, I believe that is the best that shounen romances have to offer and much better than overrated pairs like Inuyasha x Kagome. Kenshin and Kaoru's relationship is based on understanding, trust, and genuine, positive feelings. I overall like the dynamic of Kenshin's group better than Inuyasha's as well. So if you're looking for an entertaining period piece anime, Rurouni Kenshin is one of the best. The two seasons of the TV series, Tsuiokuhen, and even the movie are the good parts of the Kenshin anime. Don't even consider Reflection and Shin Kyoto-hen, they're plain bad. With all the classic anime revivals going on, it's disappointing an anime adaptation of the Jinchuu arc isn't part of it. I enjoyed the live-action movies, the 1st one is the best one for me because of the stand-out performance of legendary singer Koji Kikkawa as Jine Udo in his cold, threatening, intimidating, and blood-thirsty portrayal of the character. It's what led me to become a fan of his; I began to listen to his music and wow he is a great and talented singer, as well as an actor. His stage performances are impressive to watch. Takeru Satoh's performance as Kenshin is excellent and the best interpretation of the character in the main arc of the story.

8.00 (good) A truly awesome and action packed series I truly loved, what I liked about it were the various types of characters and the plot twists that kept me surprised. Alongside Infinite Ryvius, s-CRY-ed is another Goro Taniguchi series I really enjoyed. The artwork is amazing and the music was very cool, especially the upbeat opening. This series is the kind of shounen style series I enjoy most because it gives you plenty of enjoyment without it becoming too much of a chore as it isn't like those long-running type shows that become stale over time. So if you like the shounen genre, but hate having to commit to a long series that's over 200 + episodes, then s-CRY-ed is the series for you. My fave couple is Ryuho x Scheris, I found them cute together.

7.00 (above average) I enjoyed this series very much and the romance between the characters, especially Judas and Shin is really sweet. The voice acting is superb and well cast. I recommend this series for any fan of fantasy and shounen-ai. The characters are really likeable except for Shiva, I don't like how he acts towards Shin and thinks he's the only one who deserves Judas. The bond between the brothers Kira and Maya is really cute and seiyuu Tomokazu Sugita is awesome as Kira, his character and performance is almost like Genjo Sanzo of Saiyuki. Gai is the cutest and most likeable of the characters with his fox-like charms, he has quite the amazing character design with the fox-like features he has. Judas is definitely the most complex as a tragic hero to villain alongside Luca. The 2007 anime series and OVA were really good and enjoyable. The 2003 series was underwhelming and didn't really accomplish much in showing the conflict of the four Saint Beasts and their two former allies. If you do see this series, watch the OVA and the 2007 series first to understand the 2003 anime, but I feel the OVA and 2007 series stand well on their own.

8.00 (good) I love this series and it was truly a wonderful take on the Journey to the West series. ADV's dub was really amazing and the VA's delivered great performances. For the Reload and Gunlock series I watched them in the original Japanese dub. I don't think they cast the right VA's for the characters in Bang Zoom's dub of both series, I believe Lex Lang would've suited Gojyo better than Sanzo and Crispin Freeman for Sanzo. Other VA's among Bang Zoom's VA troupe that would've been better choices; Liam O' Brien for Kougaiji, Steven Blum for Dokugakuji, Melissa Fahn for Lirin, and Mary Elizabeth McGlynn for Kanzeon Bosatsu. The first Saiyuki series was a blast with its' two action packed seasons, with my favorite being the Homura arc, he's so sexy just like Sanzo and Gojyo are. The Hazel Grouse arc in Gunlock is much better than the Kami-sama arc in Reload. I'm glad the main seiyuu reprised their roles for the 2017 anime. Sharak Sanzo is truly amazing and I like her character, she's a total badass and also I enjoyed the cameo of Zakuro in one episode. It would've been nice to see Ni Jianyi show up in Blast and I do think the series would've benefited having a 2 cour run.

However, I think it could've been made as a movie and animated by Pierrot, as well as have better music, plus remake the beginning story of Goku's life in the heavens as the TV series version of those events included anime-only characters Homura, Zenon, and Shien. I'm happy that Sentai is dubbing it with the original voice cast and I hope they consider re-dubbing Reload and Gunlock.

8.00 (good) This was such a charming little series that touched my heart in the various emotional scenes that took place as the story progressed. Such a heartfelt drama done in such a beautifully crafted way in how one can relate and/or connect to one of the characters. I connected to the story of Sentaro, he touched me the most with his warm and fun personality that shines through his tough guy exterior, combined with his sensitive and caring heart, I'd definitely would want to give Sentaro a hug. The human element is a key piece I liked in this series as there were flaws within the characters themselves that balance out their strengths. I also loved the time period in which the series is set and the coming-of-age tale it tells in how the characters grow from high school students to adults. Shinichiro Watanabe does an amazing job with slice-of-life dramas as he does with sci-fi stories like Cowboy Bebop and Macross Plus. Yoko Kanno works her magic as always with the jazzy music score. If one thing I wished the series did; though minor, was include seiyuu like Kouichi Yamadera and Megumi Hayashibara as guest voices that would've been a nice touch.

5.00 (moderate) I understand that there is a manga of the series that tells more of the story from where the anime stopped, but I don't think I want to after what I've read what happens to the characters. I'm glad that Touma manned up at the end and sought out his goals as an individual, but I feel for Urara considering her father lives outside the country due to his work and that she is lonely. I still think the relationship between Touma and Urara was underdeveloped and really didn't give it's time to shine, it spent too much screen-time in the love triangle stuff. All-in-all, the anime itself had wasted potential and this is one of many examples the bad side of older anime is that many adaptations are often left unfinished and used as promotional material for the manga. I wasn't that thrilled with the seiyuu performances either, they were average at best. I question why this series was licensed way back when, especially when much better romance anime shows were available at the time and ignored that are more shelf-worthy, like Mamotte Shugogetten!.

Great cast of seiyuu and the songs were memorable and the best kind of musical anime out there.

5.00 (moderate) I hated the steampunk theme of the anime and the tacked on original characters who don't do anything for me, they were pretty useless to the overall narrative. I feel it should've been a pure historical drama set in the feudal era of the original movie with a similar feel to Rurouni Kenshin Tsuiokuhen. I believe when it comes to adapting legendary movies like Akira Kurosawa's Seven Samurai, I think it's important to keep true to the original narrative and themes that were presented. I don't like what they did with Kikuchiyo's character in the anime; like making him a steampunk version of a cyborg and took out the special nuances of Mifune's Kikuchiyo. Also, I think the anime version of Kyuzo lacked the inner warmth that Miyaguchi's Kyuzo portrayed. The music and songs were pretty good though.

4.00 (below average) Gonzo did not adapt this series very well and wasted its' potential; for an early 2000's series it hasn't aged well and the work on the animation is quite lazily made and inconsistent. The style of Keiji Gotoh's character designs by this time and for the majority of his future works from this period are a downgrade from how he designed characters from anime he did in the 1990's. This series is definitely at the bottom of the well of Gonzo's animation work. Another issue I have with this anime is the random hijinks combined with the display of showcasing character archetypes at their worst (especially with Azumi) that seem to overshadow the main conflict of the story. The 11th episode is wasted on pointless recap moments; I think it should've been an episode where Ryoko and Shizuma have a real heart-to-heart, see something more than a petty rivalry between them realizing each other's positive qualities, and knowing that there's feelings for one another within. I think the series would have been made better if it had been adapted by OLM for the production by Team Wasaki with Yuriko Chiba's character designs. Although I do think Ryoko is a strong-willed heroine and the song "Blue Weekend" by her seiyuu was a great tune to listen to. The ED song by Miyuki's seiyuu was really good as well with the live action sequence of Sakura Nogawa dressed as Miyuki and Ikue Kimura dressed as Ryoko.

7.00 (above average) Truly an engaging series, it's so much better than that awful Sengoku Basara series, what Musou has going for it is it's faithful to historical accuracy, a better depiction of Sanada Yukimura and Tokugawa Ieyasu, and no stupid, cheesy gung-ho shounen antics like in Basara. At times it drifted off into that territory, but not as bad like Basara. I love Ina-hime, she's such an alluring beauty and her voice actress has such a nice and lovely voice, she kind of looks like Outlaw Star's Suzuka in a way. I also love the use of traditional Japanese instruments for the BGM. The voice work is excellent, especially between Daisuke Ono and Takeshi Kusao for the Sanada brothers. It got sad in certain parts such as what happened after the battle of Sekigahara for Yukimura and how it affected Nobuyuki and the later separation between the two when they bid farewell to their bond as brothers. Otherwise, it's sad that this is rather an underrated series with no anime artwork from magazines promoting it featuring the female characters. The ending was really sad concerning Yukimura and how he stayed true to the warrior he was right until the very end. I truly hope there will be another season of this series that focuses either on Oda Nobunaga or Miyamoto Musashi and Sasaki Kojiro.

8.00 (good) I truly liked this anime as it broke away from the typical cliched formula of most anime these days featuring school age characters that show moe and/or ecchi situations. Night Raid is truly an anime meant for the seasoned and mature anime viewer that seemed to have been forgotten. So I do reccommend this series highly if you're looking for adult main characters, a mature and in-depth story you can sink your teeth into, and intrigue and mystery at every corner.

9.00 (very good) Yukikaze is a truly fantastic anime; I loved the setting, atmosphere, and the bond between the character leads Rei and James. The voice work by Masato Sakai and Jouji Nakata was perfect and both did great work voicing their respective character role. I truly recommend this series who love hard sci-fi and mature anime featuring a primary cast of adult characters.

8.00 (good) From the first glance and the intial overview of how the series compares to others' in its' genre, I feel it is a sorely underrated gem. Despite the episodic nature of the series, the female leads are endearing and are pure of heart and mind, plus there is substance to their characters and are more than just a pretty face. It's a wonderful series as the girls aren't shown in a sexual way like in modern anime shows tend to be nowadays, which is a shame as I feel anime girls being portrayed as innocent is becoming a rarity as well as one's who set goals for themselves, which I feel is important in a character. There's nothing I hate more is a female character who is just a piece of eye-candy who do nothing more than flaunt themselves and have no substance to them. All in all, I think Seraphim Call is way better than those crappy ecchi slice of life shows.

7.00 (above average) Like Haruhi Suzumiya, episodes are shown out of chronological order, and the actual beginning starts at episodes 5-6 then the events of the first four episodes come after. This OVA is quite a fun one with the fantasy and magic elements and Tiara makes for a cute and gorgeous heroine, like so many other cutesy 90's shows, I would consider this one that also predates any of the modern moe shows with the character designs. Character designer Atsuko Ishida definitely makes her characters look like something from CLAMP. What surprised me the most is the performance of the late Sayuri as Tiara (whom is well-known for portraying Lady Une in Gundam Wing and Suzuka in Outlaw Star) and I must say she was a versatile seiyuu, it's a shame she wasn't in many anime and had the opportunity in playing lead roles because she was one of the best. However, I wish that the series had been at least 12 episodes to flesh out the characters better, especially the short-lived Graham.

7.00 (above average) Yes! it's fantastic a remake of the visual novel is coming out this summer and certainly it's great to see Tsukihime get the much needed love it deserves! The opening ufotable did featuring ReoNa's song is beautifully made and the updated character designs are gorgeous. The new voices for the characters are excellent choices.

I really hope that an anime for Tsukihime will be given the green light some time after the release of the VN remake and have the anime come by next year.

9.00 (very good) This was truly an enjoyable and engaging anime to watch; the principal characters were well thought out and developed and the mystery surrounding who killed Shion's biological parents kept me guessing as much as it did the characters who were investigating the case. The series has amazing plot twists, my favorite one being centered around the Hani brothers and the relationship between Shion and Ayumi was especially a favorite element in this anime as well. Shion is an inspirational female lead as despite what she has gone through; she has a tremendous inner strength, never gives up/gives in, and believes in herself...her journey has endeared me to her as my favorite character of the series. Seiyuu performances were excellent, each did well with their respective characters and the OP & ED songs were amazing as well. It baffles me why this well-made series has not been licensed yet, I feel it should be and it's a shame it's so underrated.

Shoujo Kageki Revue Starlight

8.00 (good) Revue Starlight is definitely my favorite 2018 anime with it's great narrative and strong character dynamics of the nine girls with the rich scope of emotions each of them go through during the course of the series. Best girls and pair for me is definitely Nana and Junna, I would've given the series a point higher if Nana and Junna were the primary focus. There was a lot of depth in their relationship, they're a perfect compliment to each other. The same can be said of Maya and Claudine as a pair, the chemistry between them is strong to be an actual shoujo-ai couple. I like the songs very much, especially the OP theme, the Nana X Junna version for the ED is my personal best for the song "Fly Me to the Star" followed by the Maya x Claudine version. All the voice actresses who voice the character roles sing really well and each suit their respective character well.

9.00 (very good) Amazing series, truly the kind of anime the industry needs more of with adult characters as the leads. It's such a charming and fun series to watch and has an interesting cast of characters, the chemistry Kikuhiko has with Sukeroku and Miyokichi in the good times is truly heartwarming and the bonds Kikuhiko has with each of them is a treat to see. Akira Ishida, Megumi Hayashibara, Kouichi Yamadera, and Tomokazu Seki are impressive and shine in their respective character roles. Miyokichi is a very much like a heroine from a Kenji Mizoguchi movie in how she is portrayed as a fallen woman; to understand her character I feel one needs to watch films like Sisters of the Gion and Street of Shame to get a feel of the society that Miyokichi is a part of and how difficult life was for women in her situation. This is also a very sad anime and the last third of the 1st season is heartbreaking in how the tragedy of Kikuhiko/Miyokichi/Sukeroku's story comes to pass. S2 was just as touching with the story of Yakumo in the twilight of his years and his life with his blended family. There was great character development with Yakumo, Yotaro, and Konatsu in S2 and overall this anime is a must-see as it takes you on a journey through the generations of rakugo masters from past to present in the story. This is quality anime at its' best and one you can enjoy with your family. How this amazing anime hasn't been licensed yet is beyond me, it deserves to be as its' a shelf worthy title to own.

Silent Mobius

Last Updated: Jun 13, 2012

6.00 (average) Silent Mobius is a good anime to see if you're looking for a series with strong, young women who aren't sexualized in any way and treated like visual objects for fanservice-oriented otaku. The story runs along serious lines as one of the heroines of the series, Katsumi Liqueir is a young woman who is multi-faceted as she is faced with either being a powerful ally for her comrades, or their greatest enemy. Katsumi's power is sought by the Lucifer Hawk, the antagonists of the series and want her as their ally. The art of the two movies is incredibly beautiful for an early 90's production, but the story is fleshed out more in the TV series. The TV series could've been more faithful to the designs of the movies though as certain areas lacked consistancy.

Sin: Nanatsu no Taizai

7.00 (above average) This wasn't too bad of a series, for an ecchi series this was more enjoyable than that stupid Hybrid x Heart series; for example Sin: Nanatsu no Taizai has a better story that gets more engaging later on, has nicely made animation in terms of character designs, having characters worth investing in, and great casting choices with seiyuu who have experience in doing ecchi anime projects like Eri Kitamura, Yoko Hikasa, Chiaki Takahashi, and Shizuka Ito. So, if you like shoujo-ai ecchi and want to see something that's not a lame harem, then this is a series to check out.

7.00 (above average) I only watched the anime that had Lina paired with Naga, I thought they were a really great pair together. I'm not fond of the TV series that much, I thought Gourry was not that interesting and lacked the colorful nature Naga has. What I liked more about the Lina/Naga partnership is that there's also a rivalry between them that adds another dimension to their interesting chemistry. I would watch the TV series if Naga was in it.

7.00 (above average) Pretty hot and sexy hentai series with great art and gorgeous female character designs, I also liked the romance angle of it too. However, it would've been nice to see a yuri scene between Asa and Natsume though too.
